The team is the center of expertise for all tailor-made capital instruments related to sustainable businesses; ranging from subordinated debt to minority stakes. In addition, Sustainable Investments is a part of ING’s Think Forward Strategy and key priorities are to drive and grow the business, thereby enabling our clients with their transition.

Job description:

As an intern in our Amsterdam-based team, you will work on challenging transactions as part of a team of ∼20 professionals. You will be involved in all phases of the investment process including identification of attractive opportunities, transaction execution, and portfolio management. You will be able to further develop your financial modelling skills, perform market, industry and financial analyses, and gain hands-on transaction experience. You will have exposure to complex investing and financing decisions of Dutch small- and mid-size companies. This position provides an excellent basis for fast growth as a well-rounded financial professional.

Who we are looking for?

• A candidate who can support us in expanding Sustainable Investments
• In an advanced stage of your Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering or Science at a top-tier university in the Netherlands. You will need to be enrolled at your university at the start of your internship
• Intrinsic motivation to “dig deep” and truly understand companies
• Strong organizing skills with a commercial, pro-active and entrepreneurial mind-set;
• A proven team player who realizes that cooperation within the team and across ING departments will improve the client offering;
• Fluent in English and Dutch with good communication and reporting skills
• Some working experience in finance preferred but not required

The initiative forms part of ING’s wider sustainability strategy, which aims to accelerate sustainable businesses in areas including the energy transition, the circular economy and water.
