All about the role:

We are looking for an HR Intern to perform various administrative tasks and support our HR department’s daily activities. HR Intern responsibilities include updating our employee records and HR system with new hire information and leavers, answering employee queries through our ticketing system, and playing a role in some exciting projects. If you’re interested in kickstarting your career in HR we’d like to meet you.

What could a day look like?

Today your team has to process over 10 new hires starting this month, for our Amsterdam and Enschede offices. Some joiners are highly skilled migrants that need to relocate to the Netherlands from all over the world. It is important to make sure that they are all correctly set-up in our HR system (Workday), so that they can have a legally correct and smooth onboarding within Just Eat Takeaway. You enter the relevant data into the systems, check for completeness and possible flaws, and also check on the overall quality of the process together with your team.

In the afternoon you are managing and solving employee queries through our ticketing system (Jira). Each ticket is a different puzzle that may need out of the box thinking and/or further alignment with internal stakeholders. Whilst all this is going on you will be expected to manage the employee expectations.

Suddenly it’s already 5 PM and you’ve noticed how quickly time passes as you are so excited about getting your to-do list finished for the day. You look forward to tomorrow, when you will be involved in the roll-out of the new company-wide Document Management System.

What will you learn?

  • The basics of HR and the employment life cycle;
  • Gain in depth knowledge of the HR system Workday;
  • You will learn how to support the end to end employee lifecycle;
  • You will get a good understanding of what it means (and what it takes) to be part of a rapidly expanding international company;
  • Your communication skills will be tested and developed while working with different employees, internal stakeholders and the team.

Can you deliver...

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Currently studying for a Bachelor’s or Master Degree or higher in Human Resources or a similar field
  • Open to the scale-up mentality of rolling up your sleeves
  • Have an output driven and getting things done mentality
  • Available full-time for a period of 6 months
  • Organised, great attention to detail, and highly motivated
  • Working with the team to ensure all activities are managed efficiently and accurately
  • Fun, smart and open-minded person who enjoys working in an international multi-cultural environment
  • You are a self-starter, actively looking development opportunities, and are flexible
  • You are proficient in the English language, Dutch would also be desirable
