ING’s Equity Capital Markets Syndicate team currently has a vacant internship position with starting date from February 2023 onwards with a duration of 5 to 6 months (to be agreed upon).
Equity Capital Markets (ECM) is part of the Corporate Finance (CF) department and advises companies on raising equity on international stock markets. Products covered by ECM include Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), follow-on equity issuances and secondary offerings (i.e. rights issues or accelerated bookbuild offering), share buybacks, preference shares issuances and equity-linked transactions (convertible bonds). Together with our Financial Markets teams (i.e. Equity Research, Equity Sales, Sales & Trading, Corporate Access, and more), we originate, structure, execute and distribute equity and equity-linked transactions to institutional investors (e.g. pension funds, insurance companies, mutual funds, family offices and hedge funds) and Benelux retail investors.
Equity Capital Markets Syndicate is an integral part of the ECM team and is responsible for coordination of investor marketing, market execution of global ECM transactions (i.e. distribution, bookbuilding and price setting of ECM deals) and interaction with institutional investors. The ECM Syndicate desk can be seen as a crucial linking pin between relevant stakeholders such as an issuer, CF and Financial Markets teams, and institutional investors. Our team is located on ING’s dealing room in Amsterdam.
As an ECM Syndicate intern you will work in a young, dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated team on challenging (capital-raising) projects for high-profile clients in Europe. Key (personal) development opportunities offered with the internship:
ECM deals are complex and demanding. Joining our team will give you a head start in your future career.
Suitable candidates are ambitious and dedicated research university (WO) students (Master or final year of Bachelor) with excellent grades and background in Finance, Economics, Econometrics or STEM. Applicant is passionate and highly interested in equity capital markets. Our preferred candidate has great problem-solving skills, good judgement, strong attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work efficiently and quickly in a fast-paced deal environment (hence, no 9-to-5 mentality). Besides, our candidate is an ideal teamplayer who is energetic and proactive, can make a difference and is ready to go the extra mile for the team.
