About the role:

As the Financial Partnerships Account Manager, you will be responsible for building, evaluating, and managing Key Financial Partnerships between BYD and selected financial institutions and B2B/ B2C sales channels.

You will support the Finance Department in scoping, defining, establishing, negotiating, implementing and operationalizing complex partnership engagements.

The key to success in this role will be by being the bridge between financial partners and internal teams (sales, marketing, etc.) to drive strategic initiatives and projects.

You have a customer-oriented mindset and are compelled to work in a fast-growth, start-up-style environment, understanding the unique responsibility, creativity, and flexibility involved. This role requires the ability to be resourceful, and action-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. We're after someone who can thrive under pressure and enjoys managing multiple stakeholders to drive towards the desired outcome. Candidates with a background in the automotive industry, large car dealerships, or similar, are preferred.

The Financial Partnerships Account Manager has a dual reporting line to the Finance Manager and the Passenger Car Director.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

  1. Be responsible for the development and management of financial product planning for BYD cooperative dealers in the European region; Create relevant solutions with financial institutions for customers, including but not limited to auto finance, auto leasing, residual values, warehouse financing, etc. for each market;
  2. Be involved t in the car sales process for the best possible financial offers, including implementation of White Label Solution for a best-in-class financial services offer to European B2B/ B2C markets.
  3. Optimization of the cooperation between BYD and financial institutions and leasing companies as a strategic partner; Main tasks include strategic agreements, further actions to strengthen the cooperation, market entry of new EV models, and the associated financial products.
  4. Select the best financial partners in the market that correspond to BYD’s needs and negotiate a business partnership agreement; Setup the required credit limits with the financial partners in accordance with the targeted volume of sales as per the business plan.
  5. Establish the policies and processes to integrate the new financial solutions into our commercial process and customer experience journey.
  6. Participate in strategic data analysis, research and modeling; Develop trends and projections for company finance & business.
  7. Actively participate in the business planning process, project follow-up review, and ad hoc requests; Good sense of risk awareness and control; handle effectively, and solve problems in the actual business process.

Required skills, qualifications, and experience

  • Solid working experience in Financial Services and Commercial Finance related positions in automotive or other industries where financial solutions are a critical element in the sales and business development process.
  • Great negotiation and analytical skills; resilient and open-minded.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to prioritize and work proactively with efficient time management skills.
  • Excellent English language skills (Other European languages and/or Mandarin Chinese would be a plus)
  • Thorough knowledge of digital tools for finance solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree or MBA with a focus on International Finance.

Besides that, BYD has two factories in Europe, one located in Komarom, Hungary, and the other located in Beauvais, France. Electric buses manufactured by those two factories will be exported to customers across continental Europe. It is also in partnership with Alexander Dennis in the UK which assembles jointly developed buses for the UK market.

Up to now, the footprint of BYD electric vehicles covers over 70 major European cities, which will undoubtedly grow in the future.
