Who we are & how we work

We are EXIN, an independent certification and accreditation institute focusing on the IT domain. We offer an end-to-end solution for certifying digital professionals. We are proud to be part of the Software Improvement Group (SIG), where together we’re creating a healthier digital world. While SIG is focusing on assessing and certifying IT processes and Technology, we have our focus on People. Together, we cover the trifecta of People, Process and Technology. EXIN has a hybrid working model (office/ remote work location); however, candidates will be (initially) required to come regularly to the office to ensure an effective onboarding process.

As part of our ambitious international growth strategy, we are looking for an Exam Developer who can, together with the other Exam Developers, keep our certification portfolio up-to-date and of high-quality. The Exam Developer does this by developing, implementing, and maintaining exams, and coordinating localizations (translations) of these exams. The Exam Developer is part of the Portfolio team which is central to the EXIN strategy. EXIN needs a relevant and high quality portfolio to deliver value to our partners and customers.

Where do you come in?

As Exam Developer, you coordinate all the activities related to developing new exams, translating existing exams to a number of different languages, updating the exams to current standards during maintenance, and implementing exam products in the various systems. In addition, you review the quality of the exams through item and test analysis. You work on all exams that form part of EXIN certification portfolio.

You are part of a committed and agile team of Exam Developers, working in close cooperation with the Product Owner who ensures that the exam products are aligned with the needs of the market. You coordinate work with the other Exam Developers and with small groups of international subject matter experts or third parties (such as translation agencies).

Together with the other Exam Developers, you are responsible for developing and updating exam requirements, exam questions, exam documentation and other exam-related materials. If necessary, you (help) ensure that a certification is translated so that it can be launched in various international markets (localization). You make sure that all exam materials and questions are implemented in the necessary systems. Once exams are live, part of your work is resolving any new issues and ensuring that the quality is regularly reviewed.

The team works in an agile way and works autonomously. Work is divided according to individual strengths whenever possible. We are looking for a pragmatic, flexible person with a hands-on mentality, who is not afraid to take responsibility and works towards high-quality products. Your work is both creative and at the same time detail-oriented. Most of the communication and development work is done in English, so you must be proficient in the English language. You will report to the Manager of Portfolio and Product Management.

What's in it for you?

You get the opportunity to (further) develop your exam-related skills (item analysis, question creation), language skills and project management skills. You get a sense of satisfaction from ensuring our exams are of a high quality. You are a part of a social, hard-working team, that has lots of fun along the way.

We offer you the opportunity to join us in creating a healthier digital world. At EXIN, you can make a difference by helping people skill up and be the right fit for their (next) job and helping organizations ensure they can trust they have the right people onboard to deliver their (digital) strategies. If you share our belief that it’s essential that independent assessment of knowledge and competences is critical for a healthier digital world, you’ll be at the heart of progress at EXIN.

We offer a role with a great deal of variety, which means you have the opportunity to sharpen and develop new skills. You’ll also have possibilities for continuous learning and access to unique knowledge. Your colleagues will be a fun, diverse and highly educated group. Work schedules are flexible and many of us successfully plan around our young families. Our organization structure is flat, providing much room for your own initiatives and ideas.

We weten hoe we softwarekwaliteit moeten meten.
