Internship Vacancy: Startup Entrepreneurship & Business Development

Do you ever wonder what life would be like for a science graduate who doesn’t really want to do lab work?

Digi.Bio is a digital biology company working at the intersection of biology, computation, and engineering. We aim to deliver next generation technology platforms powered by lab-on-a-chip and artificial intelligence for faster automation of biologics development, enabling cheaper medicines to benefit all.

Digi.Bio is looking for a student or recent graduate with a life science background and an interest in entrepreneurship and startup life. As a member of our Business & Marketing team, you will support your colleagues in exploring the world of personalized therapies (who are the players?), developing novel applications using digital microfluidics (what is the next big thing?) and designing business strategy (how do we get there?). You can also learn what it’s like to run a startup business: how to achieve goals in a coordinated manner in a constantly changing environment? You will also be involved in supporting Digi.Bio’s growth through fundraising.

On a daily basis, some of the work you may be involved in include:

  • Market and landscape analysis
  • Content writing and media campaigns
  • Documentation write-ups and business control
  • Funding landscape analysis - identifying and reviewing funding opportunities
  • Researching key developments in venture deals in the relevant fields
  • Updating and curating our funding database & fundraising pipeline
  • Liaising communications with leads in the fundraising pipeline
  • Support in due diligence and document preparation for fundraising

Your academic background is either:

  • BSc./MSc. in Biotechnology, Systems Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, Science Entrepreneurship or
  • BSc./MSc. Business, Business Administration, MBA, with experience, background or demonstrable interest in molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, or systems biology

Other must-haves:

  • Strong creative abilities
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Self starter; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Can-do attitude
  • Commitment to finishing tasks
  • Friendly and approachable, good teamwork skills
  • Eager to learn, curious attitude
  • Precise and organized working manner
  • Interested in both deep tech and biology
  • Comfortable in an international environment
  • Open minded and flexible in changing environments

We offer:

  • Startups are known for their fast-paced, yet relaxed and light environment. We have a flat hierarchy that focuses on supporting each other towards being the best we can be. We value passion and commitment, and hard, sincere work but also understand that employees have families to take care of and lives to live outside the office.
  • The opportunity to work in an ambitious startup in an exciting field developing industry-changing technology targeted at making a positive impact. Today, we are using our expertise to make valuable innovative therapies more accessible to more people.
  • Learn about many different things. Our product is based on multidisciplinary engineering principles. This means you will never get bored. Interested in chemistry, engineering or software? There’s space for that too!
