We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us build functional systems that improve customer experience.

DevOps Engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs. If you have a solid background in software engineering and are familiar with React, Node.JS, Express.JS, GraphQL, (rest)API’s, MongoDB, MariaDB, SVN, GitHub, Jenkins, Google Cloud Hosting, Ansible, Rundeck, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Implement innovative integrations
  • Provide medior-level technical support
  • Stop errors before they occur by building cutting edge tools and improve customer experience
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Perform workstation and office automation support tasks
  • Build tools and critical infrastructure supporting DPDK’s site/software/application platforms.
  • As a key member of the engineering department help deploy shared infrastructure and traffic management services while supporting already existing web-based sites/software/applications.
  • Work closely with other engineering and technical teams in deploying their code, providing operational support for new and existing sites/software, and debugging production issues. You perform functions required for the deployment, configuration, support, and troubleshooting of issues with the business’s site/software.
  • Make key decisions independently such as decisions on automation processes, tools, and resources for building sites/software as promptly and efficiently as possible.
  • Keep DPDK’s site/software to the highest standard with frequent monitoring
  • Promote the evolution of the engineering department’s tools and procedures in line with the business’s systems.
  • Actively build and improve the platform services including websites, software, and applications while hosting and managing databases.
  • Checking and monitoring alarms is part of your routine, along with diagnosing symptoms, analyzing root causes, and preventing repeats of similar issues.
  • Take ownership and accountability of the performance and reliability of the web-services that DPDK manages.
  • Inspire the engineering department to share their expertise and learn from each other, while keeping up with industry best practices, trends, and standards
  • Identify automation opportunities and designs, along with developing automation solutions that improve DevOps operations and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with senior DevOps the DevOps team, communicating information and instructions clearly, both verbally and on paper

Requirements

  • You’ve done this before! With at least 3 years of work experience in a DevOps capacity, preferably as support personnel for a DevOps Engineer, you thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • You have a good grasp of the Google Cloud and Networking Infrastructure (locally and in the cloud)
  • You have mastered modern web development frameworks and the MERN-stack
  • Familiar with several of the following:
  • GraphQL
  • (rest)APIs
  • MariaDB
  • SVN
  • Git
  • Jenkins
  • Ansible
  • Rundeck
  • Proficient in CMS flavours ranging from Drupal to Strapi
  • You’re skilled in CI/CD
  • You’re an expert in monitoring tools such as: Icinga, Grafana, Observium and uptime.com
  • You knowLinux/Unix inside and out
  • Daily Office IT tasks don’t bore you
  • Security management and assessments don’t scare you
  • When it comes to databases you have all the know-how
  • You don’t rest until the problem is solved
  • Team spirit
  • You speak English (required) and Dutch (required) as well as you code
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field (MBO/HBO werk- en denkniveau)
