Job Description

We are recruiting a Service Desk Engineer to join our team based in Rijswijk , Netherlands. Working as part of a team, you’ll be resolving IT tickets raised by your customers, working in order of priority. As part of your day to day activity, you'll be assisting in providing support, such as perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications. The work is varied and working to support your colleagues not just in Rijswijk but in our offices across Europe.

You will ideally hold a 2:1 BSc Honours Degree, or higher, in an appropriate subject or have equivalent industry experience.

Skills & Experience

  • Ideally have an academic degree (does not have to be in IT)”
  • MS Windows, Server OS and VM Ware experience is essential
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence and PRTG Monitoring is preferred
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Customer-focused, analytical and an eye for detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Record, track and document the service desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Assist with major IT projects, including software releases and roll-outs.
  • Training of users, deliver IT Induction to new employees, developing FAQs and help sheets.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of assets, as well as evaluating documented resolutions and analyse trends for ways to prevent future problems
