Our marketplace launched in 2021 with the objective of creating a one-stop shop for sport and is one of the fastest growing areas of Decathlon. As an international retailer, we are uniquely positioned to be the most significant sports marketplace in the world and we aim to generate €1bn in our first 5 years.

Having launched in over 13 countries including the UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong and India, we are looking to scale our marketplace platform at pace.


You will be responsible for the growth of strategic brands on Decathlon Marketplace, ranging from household names to high-growth challenger brands.

As an early member of the UK Marketplace startup, you will support the strategic direction of the team, taking on high-value projects to offer new features to Sellers and Customers and create scalable solutions that will allow us to unlock growth.

You will be a key player in facilitating the marketplace transition/mindset internally. You will work closely with different business functions to facilitate this change management with transparency, good communication and energy.

As we are a global marketplace, you will work closely with your international colleagues to help develop the marketplace strategy globally.


Account Management

  • Understand the individual needs of each partner, arranging regular catch-up meetings with your portfolio.
  • Manage a cohort of strategic SPs on Decathlon's Marketplace, working with them to expand their selection, offer an enhanced experience to customers and grow their revenue
  • Support Sellers with ad hoc issues and escalations, working to maximise partner retention and feeding issues and fixes into Marketplace's roadmap to improve Seller Experience at scale
  • Continuously monitor the performance of our partners (Seller Analytics) and the respect of partners' SLAs (Delivery promises, Product & Seller Reviews, Return rates etc.)

Strategy / Program Management

  • Define and execute our strategy to offer scalable support to our long tail of Sellers.
  • Provide recommendations to the partners regarding the additional services Decathlon can offer (ex. Fulfilment), and pricing models (ex. free delivery) that will boost the partners’ business further.
  • Work on strategic initiatives to grow the Marketplace and improve the Customer and Seller experiences e.g. Seasonal planning and Black Friday weekend, new feature rollouts and targeted KPI improvements.
  • Identify potential for optimising the management of offers - stock - pricing for the partners.
  • Work closely with the other Marketplace teams such as Business Development, Finance, Onboarding and Customer Service as well as other Decathlon stakeholders
  • Exchange with the other marketplace Account Managers in different Decathlon Countries to identify and share best practices.


  • A sports enthusiast!
  • Experience in working with marketplaces and interacting with merchants is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (written and oral) with external partners, able to manage on various management levels.
  • Startup and hands-on mentality, fast and agile with confidence working autonomously.
  • Strong cross-functional experience and proven ability to work collaboratively and through others.
  • Ideally 2 years of experience in account management roles, however, motivation is more important.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience within the sporting goods industry is a plus.
