THE ROLE

The Junior Buyer will provide support to the full price buying team and will assist with the seasonal product assortment for different channels & covering multiple product categories - in house designs & licensed. The junior buyer needs to assist with managing the seasonal OTB to ensure the optimal buy is reached. Strong communication with all internal departments and a great eye for product is essential attributes for the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertakes administrative duties to support the buying team.
  • Support buyers in preparation of sales analysis and participation in hindsight meetings in order to inform buys.
  • Assist with the seasonal buy for the full price channel; works with the manager buying and product teams to ensure suitable product developments for the full price channels.
  • Participation in product & buy sign off reviews
  • Assist in maintenance of seasonal OTB and re-orders.
  • Preparation and participation in weekly trade meetings.
  • Develops strong relationships with Retail & Digital teams to maximize and drives sales.
  • Works closely with allocation to maximize assortments and stock management
  • Critical path management; adhere to set deadlines, including timely feed in of commercial information, cross functionally and the monitoring of deliveries
  • Keeping up to date with competitor activity and constantly reviewing the product strategy

THE PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or fashion.
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous buying experience at assistant buyer or junior buyer level.
  • Ability to react to changing demands of the market place.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all areas of the business.
  • Organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Awareness of trends, brands and competitors
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel user.
  • Pro-active team player.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
