DBS is the firm’s internal corporate security organisation, providing support to Deloitte and its clients to ensure data is managed securely, confidentially and in accordance with regulatory requirements. We are looking for an Assistant Manager/Manager to work within our Confidentiality and Data Risk team to deliver a critical review of our technology assets.

Your role

The Client Confidentiality and Data Risk team provides Information Security support to the business by enabling the identification and management of confidentiality, security and data risks. Our team enables the business to understand and meet client and regulatory information security obligations, reducing potential risk to the firm.

Following a recent enhancement to Deloitte’s Global Technology Standards, this role will need to establish and deliver a process to review the firm’s technology assets to ensure compliance with the requirements relating to confidential information.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Supporting internal clients to understand and correctly apply the firm’s security policies and procedures
  • Providing specialist resource, advice and capability around the handling, management and protection of client and Deloitte confidential information
  • Providing security and risk management advice for Deloitte practitioners working across all Service Lines and Enabling Functions
  • Reviewing and Negotiating information security aspects of contracts in partnership with the firm’s legal teams
  • Being a key point of contact for security, confidentiality and data risk related matters and assist the business with resolving issues
  • Advising client facing and internal teams on the appropriate mitigation of risks across all areas of confidentiality, security and data risk
  • Supporting the firms’ review and assessment of services provided by the Global Network to ensure Confidentiality controls are implemented to meet local requirements and firm standards
  • Supporting team delivery in the facilitation of business, client and supplier security audits and assurance processes
  • Working closely with teams across DBS to collate SME guidance and input to support engagement teams, contract review/negotiation and client assurance
  • Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Location: You will have a regional office aligned based on your location, but with the option to work remotely from home and flexibly too. Occasional UK travel may be required.

Work pattern: This is a fixed term contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis.

Your professional experience

Essential:

  • Experience of and demonstrable interest in working in the areas of Risk Management and/or compliance
  • Experience of understanding and evaluation of security requirements and corresponding controls (technical, physical, and administrative)
  • Ability to work under own initiative, effectively prioritise workloads under pressure, where appropriate escalating issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand technical documentation (e.g. high level design and SSDLC output) to level required to be able to determine any potential data risks and propose solutions.
  • Track record of success in problem solving and team working
  • Proficient written and verbal briefing and communication skills, as well as close attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships and manage stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Understanding of project management processes, and the ability to manage key deliverables
  • Formal security qualification (CISM or equivalent) or experience with industry standards e.g. ISO27001.
