Cloud Engineers are first and foremost engineers. Since you dislike administering systems, you apply software engineering principles and techniques instead. You’re responsible for software to orchestrate large-scale cloud environments that are elastic and self-healing and to facilitate security, incident management, and recovery.

About us

Xccelerated is an initiative within Xebia, accelerating the growth of Data, Cloud and AI competence. Our 13-month advanced training programs integrate hands-on learning and skill development with working at one of our partner companies. It is an intense learning journey for people who have proven their potential and are ready for the next step in their careers.

Working as a Cloud Engineer through Xccelerated: what is that like?

Every Cloud Engineer kicks off with two full-time weeks of hands-on Bootcamp training. This intensive training focuses on how to build cloud-native software in a secure and compliant way using the DevOps way of working. Participants learn through classroom lectures, short assignments, hackathons, and collaborative project assignments. Our Cloud Engineer Lead chooses the best training approach for the topic, depending on your needs.

After these 2 kick-off weeks, you’ll work four days a week at the location of one of our partner organizations and one day a week at the Xccelerated office/on remote — which involves ongoing training and project support from our technical leads. At the end of your first year, you get the opportunity to join the partner organization directly.

The Role

As a Cloud Engineer you will work together with other medior- and senior team members on challenging projects for our clients. Sometimes you’ll write software alongside your product development colleagues. At other times, you’ll build the systems those developers need, such as load balancers and backups, preferably in a way that makes it easy to share them with other systems. Every so often, you'll apply existing solutions to new problems.

Besides this, you like to focus on automation of the software development process, like to manage large-scale and scalable cloud environments, and like to take care of the facilitation for security and system administration.

Who are You?

Your Superpowers

  • A technical bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g. computer science, cloud computing, software engineering)
  • 2-5 years of work experience as a cloud engineer or software engineer
  • Knowledge of DevOps, containerization, cloud-native solutions
  • Preferably experience in one of the major cloud environments (Azure, GCP, AWS)
  • Good communication skills
