Job Summary

The Production Scheduler will be based at our Luton site and sit within the wider operations function serving our Defence business line, the incumbent will report to the Logistics Manager. The Production Scheduler will manage the shop floor scheduling activities in the Production Area working closely with Value Stream Managers and Team Leaders, the incumbent will manage visual systems to communicate and monitor the sequence of production orders ensuring the availability of tooling and raw material resources whilst creating and maintaining the optimal production sequence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be compliant with the Company’s Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy procedures
  • Proactively communicate/escalate to the Master Scheduler / Area management potential production execution issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions against potential supply failure
  • Monitor Stock cover daily in order to avoid Stock outs as well as overstocks by adjusting the execution sequence if possible or raising the issue with the Master Scheduler
  • Weekly track, challenge and report Schedule Adherence with reasons for deviation to Production Area Management and Master Scheduler
  • Monitor manufacturing output/performance daily against the schedule, challenging and understanding whenever performance differs from standard

How You'll Contribute

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

Essential:

  • Significant operational scheduling experience gained from a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of using ERP scheduling tools
  • Experience of working with operations professionals to set schedules
  • Experience of inventory management to identify resource and material trigger points

Desirable:

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience of using SAP for scheduling
