  • Develop new products (40%). This entails mainly new ingredient development for our existing customers and for new business development;
  • Writing novel food dossiers (40%): collecting data on composition, digestibility, bioavailability, etc. of novel ingredients and using this data to write novel food dossiers, and successfully finalize the application procedure of the dossiers;
  • Speaking at conferences, representing Protix at events, writing patent applications and scientific manuscripts (10%);
  • Scientific communications with associations such as IPIFF, NACIA, EFSA, etc. on food matters (10%);
  • You will work closely with different important internal stakeholders. Such as Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Product Development, Operations and Communication.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. Food Technology from a reputed university;
  • At least 6 year experience in food ingredient development post M.Sc. (Ph.D. years will be counted as experience);
  • Thorough understanding of food regulatory landscape;
  • Understanding of protein and fat functionality is a must;
  • Fluent English, both speaking and writing. Knowledge of the Dutch language is an advantage
  • Experience with writing or coordinating the novel food dossier is highly advantageous;
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and eager;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, deadline-oriented, and good organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills;
  • Good connector and collaborator, internally as well as externally.
  • Effective style flexibility, to achieve results with different audiences
  • Conceptual thinking and a hands on mentality;
  • Basic project management skills are required. More in depth experience with project- and program management and governance is an advantage
