Job description

As Virtuagym keeps on growing, we are now looking for a new Director of Channel Sales. Reporting directly to the CRO, you will be building and executing our commercial channel sales strategy, hire and lead an amazing team of Senior Channel Sales Managers and take our channel sales department to the next level.

This role of Director of Channel Sales is based at our Amsterdam office and is a full time (40 hours) role (part time can be discussed) position. We are a remote-friendly company, meaning you can work from your home at all times within the Netherlands. Additionally, you can work from any location you want within Europe up to 4 weeks at a time for a maximum of 12 weeks in a year.

What this role looks like

The Channel Sales team is mainly focused on expanding and managing our global commercial partnership network (resellers, installation partners and referral partnerships) with companies of all shapes and sizes across Europe and the US. One channel sales partner could for example include a software consultancy firm with 30 sales employees, but could also include a fitness equipment provider with 10K+ employees worldwide. Either way, we ensure our partner’s success by acting like an extension of their business, influence partners across the C-Suite, develop an individual go-to-market (sales, marketing and CS) programs that align to the partners commercial goals and incentivizes them to bring new customers or leads to Virtuagym, whilst using the market leading resources and expertise within Virtuagym to guarantee success.

In this role you will be hiring and managing 3 Senior Channel Sales Managers who each manage up to 10 commercial partnerships in their dedicated region (Germany, US or the rest of Europe). You will work closely with key stakeholders across different departments to align on strategy and operations, like: sales, marketing, finance and Rev Ops.

In outline, you focus on:

  • (re) developing the channel sales strategy, translating the strategy into a roadmap and defining priorities;
  • Team planning & hiring;
  • Coordinating & defining department OKRs;
  • Setting KPIs and targets;
  • Monthly reporting to the board;
  • Coaching & training of Channel Sales Managers;
  • Strategy alignment with other departments;
  • Developing a high performance team.

Priority projects for the coming 6 months:

  • Define commercial agreements with channel sales partners;
  • Develop partner installation packages we can offer to new customers;
  • Build a strong partner network in Germany and the US, consisting out of installation partners and reseller partners;
  • Hire Channel Sales Managers for Germany, the US and eventually for the rest of Europe;
  • Put together a go to market briefcase for new partners;
  • Maximize satisfaction and output from existing partnerships.

The main KPIs you will be driving:

  • New MRR from channel partners;
  • SQLs generated by channel partners;
  • On site customer training sessions completed by installation partners;
  • Partner satisfaction.

Job requirements

About you

  • You have 3+ years experience as a Channel Sales Manager or a somewhat similar role
  • You have 5+ years experience in quota caring customer-facing roles, preferably with enterprise or mid market deals / Scale up / International
  • You are extremely result driven
  • Excellent stakeholder, project, and communication skills
  • You like to challenge others and want to be challenged yourself (by your team and manager)
  • You always think about how things can be better and more scalable
  • You have previous experience in a leadership position
  • Full professional fluency in English and one of the following languages: German, Spanish, French or Dutch
  • Bonus: You have affinity with SaaS models
