Job DescriptionAre you a data management professional who understands the complexity of data and the key role it plays within Asset Management? Do you have the strong analytical and communication skills needed to translate information requirements into data components, and vice versa? Do you also have an affinity with financial systems? Your team and challenge

Within operations, the Master Data Business Analyst is part of the Master Data Management department and is responsible for the centralized sourcing, mastering, validation and distribution of different kinds of Investments and its related mastered fields across various platforms in the value chain.

This is supported by the creation of a good data delivery infrastructure in which a master data management platform has been set up for how we want to bring data from source to end user in a fast, unambiguous, and responsible manner.

Your role is focused on the SMF (Security Master Fields) Domain, but you will work in close collaboration with colleagues from different Operational and IT teams.

You will be brought in on assignment to chiefly support the implementation of our new Order and Execution Management Systems. To oversee, analyse, capture, provide input, and help resolve matters for the project from a Data Management perspective. As the security domain will be the largest and most critical data provider to these platforms.

In addition to the business and functional analysis work, we are looking for a candidate who can also take on a coordinating role

Your main responsibilities

  • Perform analyses, but also understand the data and their functions
  • Recognize if there are new demands and uses from the dataset, that needs a structural change or a fresh process
  • Have an innate ability to empathize with the client’s needs; you are tenacious and service-minded, and you provide constructive criticism.
  • Translate business requirements to technical requirements, and vice versa
  • Understand and improve the design decisions and architecture for the data flows
  • Engage in active dialog with the aim to develop and highlight action points
  • Steer IT to formulate accurate Story requests and if needed propose follow-up refinements
  • Track defects and process improvements, then triage them with other teams and IT in different environments.
  • Provide overview of development to colleagues and Management

Complementary tasks could be

  • Help problem solve production incidents and problems
  • Supporting on other related data domains, specially the reference data domain, within the Data Management department.
  • Serving as a point of contact for strategical or tactical items and representing the Master Data Department internally and externally.

Profile requirements

  • Relevant HBO / academic study preferably in Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Applied Economics or similar technical field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience;
  • Knowledge of asset management and/or master data management
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • CFA (charter holder) or other Investment data Certifications is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Markit EDM, OMS/EMS is a pre;
  • Knowledge of MS Office including Excel, VBA is a pre;
  • Knowledge of financial instruments;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Language skills: English, excellent;
  • Proactive, result driven, analytical, team player, hands-on, client and service oriented;
  • Affinity with administrative organization and systems;
  • Affinity with complex automated systems
