Our FSI team works with financial institutions and private equity firms to look for new ways to unlock and create value in their businesses whilst navigating the implications of the changing regulatory environment and its impact on portfolio management and performance. Our professionals’ ability lies around effectively evaluating complex issues and developing effective, practical solutions in a timely and successful manner.

This European Senior Associate role sits within the newly formed Global Portfolio Advisory Group within FSI which advises banks, regulators, governments and private equity firms across the globe with balance sheet & portfolio optimization, acquisitions, disposals, bank restructuring and resolutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to use your financial services advisory experience to become involved in a ‘hands on’ and market leading European team.

Responsibilities:

The role will entail advising on balance sheet / portfolio optimization, performance improvement, sell side / buy-side portfolio advisory and bank restructuring and resolutions. You will be responsible for providing practical and value adding advice to our clients – this includes how to optimize capital, maximize the economics on transactions, improve the performance of loan portfolios and restructuring banks. On the more transactional buy-side and sell-side engagements you shall be responsible for leading the team in various aspects on underlying transactions.

To do this effectively, you will need to:

  • Be an action-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills and entrepreneurial flair;
  • Be comfortable working independently as well as in a high performing team;
  • Analysing credit worthiness of individual borrowers and entire loan portfolios;
  • Producing extensive financial modelling and analysis including cash flow models and projections;
  • Producing financial information, research and reports;
  • Playing a significant role in the delivery of client presentations and attending client meetings when appropriate;
  • In joining a growing business, you will have the opportunity be involved in business development activities and will join the team meetings where WIP, project pipeline, resourcing, marketing and business development initiatives are discussed. You will be actively involved in these discussions and be an integrated part of the FIAS team.

Requirements:

This role will be based in London but with a European focus. The profile we are looking for will therefore need to speak at least one fluent European language (such as Italian, Spanish, Greek, German or French), as well as English.

Essential:
