The Private Client team at A&M has enjoyed exponential growth since 2019. The team has developed into a close knit and supportive group who are committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Private client tax matters can be extremely challenging and often involve complex interactions between the principal taxes in the UK and globally. Our team of experts manage all aspects of private client advisory issues to help clients mitigate or avoid costly mistakes.

Our Private Client team has a diverse and thriving portfolio of notable private individuals and their families who expect a tailored and focused approach to tax planning. We help and support our clients by identifying their key tax concerns and advising on strategies to address those concerns. We help clients with a wide range of issues, most of which cover international private client matters including:

  • Business exit and wealth preservation strategies
  • Structuring new ventures
  • Succession planning
  • Pre-arrival tax and exit planning for families moving tax residence
  • The use of overseas structures, particularly for non-UK domiciled individuals
  • The taxation of investment management fees for private equity executives

As a result of this breadth, along with A&M’s growth, we are again expanding the tax practice rapidly and looking to recruit an Associate/Manager into the team.

The ideal candidate will be bright, diligent, action-orientated, and hands-on. The individual will preferably have a background in private client consulting services and will be able to quickly establish, develop and enhance client relationships. The primary responsibilities would be private client advisory services although there may be a requirement to oversee compliance prepared by other team members.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Establishing and managing client relationships:
  • Dealing directly with clients, trustees and their wealth managers to build relationship and be the point of contact
  • Working with Directors and Managing Director to identify opportunities
  • Liaising with tax specialists in other areas within A&M
  • Co-ordinating with London and global Taxand teams
  • Be involved in all aspects of private client matters:
  • Actively participating in meetings
  • Day to day point of contact and regular exposure to clients
  • Drafting tax advisory reports on a wide range of matters including
  • Working to deadlines to deliver completed reports
  • Providing clients with ad-hoc advice on day to day planning issues
  • Building relationships with external service providers and be actively involved in the growth of the team

Other responsibilities:

  • Providing advice regarding tax technical issues in the UK and globally
  • Oversee cross border clients and work with Taxand
  • Undertaking technical research projects
  • Involved in business development and marketing initiatives

Qualifications:

  • ACA or CTA qualified with personal tax advisory experience
  • Relevant/appropriate tax experience - we can only consider candidates with UK Tax experience for this role
