Financial Accounting Manager - Contract

Your Career: As the Financial Accounting Manager of INEOS Automotive you will work within a scale-up and fast-moving environment. You will be surrounded by a team of experts in their field and be given the autonomy and freedom to develop the role as we grow.

The Role: The Financial Accounting Manager manages the accounting team and is responsible for all day-to-day accounting tasks and activities. Key areas of responsibility include the general ledger, fixed assets, month end financial close, periodic VAT and intrastat filings, preparation of the annual statutory accounts, corporation tax pack and audit files.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller with alignment of Accounting Policy across all legal entities.
  • Prepare the annual statutory accounts and corporate income tax packs.
  • Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems, and procedures in order to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Monitor cash position and contribute to the identification of funding requirements.
  • Manage the monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information. Provide monthly financial information to INEOS Group via HFM system.
  • Ensure accuracy of the general ledger, including identification and classification of fixed assets.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of periodic VAT and intrastat returns.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end, providing detailed data files as required.
  • Provide input to systems development strategy and enhancement requirements, including providing appropriate resource to test new developments.
  • Ensure accounting treatment is consistent with the business’ accounting policies and applicable accounting standards, including IFRS 16, Lease Standard.
  • Help to develop and monitor against a capex budget.
  • Continue to develop the reporting capabilities with the FP&A team and continue to stabilize and improve the ERP system with the Systems team.
  • Act as backup/substitute for payroll processing in Germany & Portugal (SEPA)

For the Financial Accounting Manager we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 3 years Commercial Finance or similar experience, preferably in Automotive or a technical environment.
  • Commercial awareness, a positive attitude and “can-do” approach, comfortable to challenge at all levels.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong Excel skills including the use of pivot tables and advanced formulae.
  • Attention to detail and ability to quickly master complex requirements.
  • Ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term professional relationships at all levels.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Experience in building/maintaining complex financial models and clear presentation of financial data to non-financial individuals.
