Your opportunity

Our national Reward business represents the largest Reward practice in any professional services firm and has practitioners specialising in every area of how and why employers pay employees.

We are offering a unique opportunity for a senior share plans professional to join our Incentives team in a varied and challenging leadership role. You will support a wide range of private companies at every stage of the corporate lifecycle with all aspects of designing, implementing and operating incentive arrangements in the UK and overseas, including supporting clients in meeting their tax, legal, regulatory and compliance obligations and advising on the impact of corporate transactions on such incentive arrangements. We are a true advisory practice, and aim to work in partnership with our clients to deliver high quality, high impact advice. Register your interest to find out more.

Are you looking to return to the workplace after an extended career break?

For this role we can offer coaching and support designed for returners to refresh your knowledge and skills, and help your transition back into the workplace after a career break of 2 years or more. If this is relevant for you, just let your recruiter know when you make your application.

Your role

Our team supports a broad client portfolio across a range of industries, from start-up and fast-growing businesses through to very large global corporations – including private equity portfolio companies and specialist funds.

Our Directors take the lead on developing and maintaining client relationships, pursuing new growth opportunities and developing our local and national teams. You will be provided with the support you need to grow and progress, potentially to partnership, receiving continuous in-house training to develop and hone your technical, industry and soft skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning your portfolio of clients and delivering innovative solutions by bringing together multi-disciplinary teams to tackle some of our most complex client challenges;
  • Leading teams supporting clients with the design, implementation and operation of a wide range of equity and cash incentive arrangements in the UK and globally, including complex structuring advice in relation to the incentives aspects of corporate transactions;
  • Reviewing a range of client deliverables, including complex structuring and due diligence reports and other share plan and related employee communication documents;
  • Leading the identification and pursuit of business growth opportunities on clients and targets (both in relation to Incentives & Reward and wider Tax/Deloitte services);
  • Playing a key role in the development of our diverse team and delivering Deloitte’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture; and
  • Working with partners and the wider team to develop the strategic direction and shape of the practice for the future and deliver that vision.

Your work, your choice

At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. Please speak to your recruiter about the working pattern that works best for you.

Location: Any of our offices in the UK, with occasional travel.

Work pattern: The role is a permanent full time contract opportunity. However, our team members work a variety of agile working patterns and we encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. If the opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.

Your professional experience

  • Extensive experience of share incentives in the professional services environment (potentially including time in industry);
  • Deep understanding of, and strong technical ability in relation to, the relevant legislation and case law in this field;
  • Ability to ensure deliverables are of a high quality and technically and numerically accurate with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas (through both written and oral communication) in a pragmatic and articulate way;
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to adapt to changes in the external environment rapidly and to respond to clients appropriately;
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively when approaching problem-solving (including use of technology/digital solutions where appropriate);
  • Pro-active and able to take ownership of delivering projects to clients, prioritise workloads and deadlines and use initiative to resolve problems;
  • Proven track record of leading teams and developing people;
  • Team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels and make an impact within our local, national and international networks; and
  • Ideally one of the following qualifications: ACCA/ACA/ATT/CTA, Solicitor or Barrister (or equivalent experience).

Your service line: Tax Consulting

Arguably the most stimulating career environment in our industry, tax at Deloitte is a far cry from tax at other firms. Here, it’s all about collaborating with colleagues at the top of their game, across disciplines, for clients who urge us to constantly push the boundaries of our creativity. You’ll find a diverse mix of people, all working together to deliver best-in-class advice. And you’ll discover a structured programme that will help you develop even greater expertise. From fascinating projects to a wealth of secondment opportunities, both in the UK and overseas, you can enjoy a broad and rich career experience.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
