Your role

You will provide first line clinical support / interim clinical support for the Wellness Advisory Team, before OH involvement, dealing predominately with sickness cases requiring clinical support / intervention (and will handover to OH for long term sickness cases). This is not a client facing role and you may be providing clinical support directly to employees.

Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Triage and advise on complex cases referred to the clinical team to determine whether OH support is appropriate, or recommend specialist support, such as reasonable adjustments
  • Provide a source of Clinical expertise
  • Work closely with the Wellness Advisory Advisors and Assistant Managers on complex cases or those requiring specialist clinical knowledge such as threat to life situations, mental health cases, Neurodiversity related queries/advice and dyslexia cases and fitness for work assessments
  • Support case management through collaborative working between the Clinical and non-clinical Wellness Advisory team
  • Create and advise on temporary phase return plans where required (in advance of appointment referral)
  • Implementation of policies and procedures to achieve compliance with the medical aspects of H&S legislation
  • Adhere to individual case management SLAs and KPIs
  • Efficient and effective delivery within agreed target times and to agreed standards
  • Proactive reporting of trends which can feed into the business conversations.

Your professional experience

  • Demonstrable clinical and/or OH experience required; in a multi disciplinary organisation in either the public or private sector (experience within the healthcare and corporate sectors advantageous)
  • Registered General Nurse – or equivalent (part 1 of NMC Register).
  • Registered on part 3 of NMC Register (Occupational Health desirable)
  • Educated to at least degree level (desirable)
  • Competent in all aspects of sickness absence case management including mental health issues, neurodiversity, dyslexia and fitness for work assessments
  • Case Management / ServiceNow software experience is desirable.
