Your role

We are seeking an energetic and self-driven Assistant Product Manager to take a significant role in our Assurance practice. Working within the Assurance Ventures team, the role requires you to take the reins across multiple regulatory technology products and deliver them to the satisfaction of our clients. You will have the support of Deloitte subject matter experts in software architecture, development and testing, as well as work with our client leads to deliver best-in-class projects that onboard our new clients onto our regulatory technology or deliver new functionality to existing clients.

Working within the Assurance Ventures team, your role will be to manage the ongoing delivery of a number of products. This will include coordinating client teams with development and testing teams. It may also include providing support to those teams to ensure accurate development. It will be your responsibility to monitor ongoing sprint progress and oversee delivery.

Our clients are currently primarily located in the UK and European insurance market and are large firms with well-known brands. We have a large pipeline of new functionality to develop and provide. The need for our technology is driven by regulations growing in scale and complexity which is a common challenge for financial services firms globally. Our software adds structure, efficiency and clarity for our clients who are attempting to adhere to these regulations.

You will have responsibility for:

  • Assisting in the planning and populating of sprints, taking into accounts the needs of various stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Monitoring and managing sprint delivery with development and test teams, including allocation/re-allocation of work
  • Communicating sprint progress upwards to keep all interested stakeholders informed
  • Regularly integrating with client teams for latest requirements and challenges
  • Assisting with RFPs and Bid work for new business
  • Working with development teams to provide estimates and quotes for new business
  • Production and organisation of product documentation

Location: Deloitte has moved into a Hybrid way of working so if you want to work in one of our large UK city centre hubs or from home, or both, you decide.

Your professional experience

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A degree or an equivalent in a technical subject, ideally with some level of software teaching (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Economics, Maths) / equivalent
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to explain technical detail in a clear and understandable way to non-technical people.
  • Great attention to detail, diligence to not assume work is being done correctly, but to verify it.
  • An approachable nature with the ability to build a strong rapport with clients and internal colleagues.

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Experience of relational database design and SQL queries
  • Experience software development methodology, ideally some form of agile delivery (e.g. SCRUM)
  • Understanding of low-code development (e.g. outsystems)
  • Experience of web-application development
  • An interest in regulatory topics in the financial services sector
  • Proficiency in a programming language (Javascript, C# or Java preferred)
