You’ll have the opportunity to experience various projects and roles within one of our strategic capabilities, rotating through three different assignments during your time on the Global Development Program (GDP). Your three rotations will be set by your program manager prior to you joining us. In the event that you discover along the way that you’d like to develop outside of your original capability track, we will support you in defining your next rotation into an adjacent complementary function that best suits you. Additionally, you’ll be offered a tailored learning journey, ongoing ‘learning on the job’ and peer learning.

Whether you want to work in the field of complex medical devices, connected care or personal health, you’ll be able to explore, contribute, learn, and receive structured support. You’ll also benefit from the many opportunities to learn and share with other Philips graduates and employees and expand your own business network. After two years on the GDP program, our Career Center will support you in your next move.

You are responsible for

There are several assignments (location Eindhoven or Best) available, each with a specific assignment focus. Here are some examples of the type of rotations you’ll work on during the two-year program. After passing the Assessment Centre for our GDP Software track, you will be matched with your first rotation assignment.

  • Hands-on participation in the software design, implementation and verification of our (smart) parenting products in the mother and child care domain, being video monitors and/or breast pumps.
  • Participate in the definition of data strategy for the department
  • Evaluate tools and technology alternatives (from technical and business perspective)
  • Projects you could work on for example are: “Can we increase our automated test coverage significantly? Are there strategical questions to be investigated?” “Do we have reliability issues? And do we have a good test approach for this?” “Do we have some new technologies (e.g. deep learning / AI) or frameworks, for which we can define a feasibility study?” “Can we leverage from trend analysis”

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Recently graduated Bachelor or Master’s degree in the field of Software Engineering, Computer Science or Technical Informatics
  • Max 1 years of work experience straight after your graduation
  • Experience gained through projects/internships with Python, R, generic data analysis tools and scripting
  • Passion for embedded and IoT devices
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A customer-first attitude
  • International experience would be a benefit
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager and ambitious
  • Business fluency in English
