The opportunity:

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the UK Finance Team as Risk Manager for Finance, responsible for the effective management of the risk and compliance frameworks across both the Life and General Insurance businesses for the UK Finance function. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who will ensure all risk and compliance frameworks are complied with and well managed.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for effective operational risk management.
  • Responsible for effective compliance management, including the Senior Managers Certification Regime (SMCR).
  • Responsible for managing the roll out of new risk and compliance processes for the UK Finance function.
  • Responsible for incident reporting and the timely closure of action plans.
  • Represent UK Finance at internal risk and compliance committees
  • Responsible for the management of Business Continuity and Business Resilience.
  • Present risk and compliance governance updates to the UK Finance Controls Group and to the Finance Exec Team.
  • Support UK CFO sign off for all executive risk and compliance attestations

Your skills and experience:

  • You will be directly liaising with senior management across UK Finance, in addition to liaising with stakeholders from other functions. Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong working relationships are therefore essential.
  • High quality oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple deliverables.
  • Experience in risk, compliance and controls would be highly desirable.
