Job Description

Start date: August / September

Duration: 6 months. If possible, we will extend to 9 or 12 months

We will capture your preference regarding location in the Netherlands, however depending on the opportunities, we will or will not be able to comply with it.

We require an availability of 32-40 hours per week.

The purpose of Supply Chain Innovation Interns is to drive the identification, testing, and adoption of new ways of working and technologies within the Supply Chain enabling an acceleration of transformation. Supporting the continuous improvement of our Integrated Warehouse and Distribution, Integrated Planning, Business/Market SC, Capability Development, or Customer First teams with the aligned end goal to better meet our customer demand and ambitious targets.

As a Supply Chain Innovation Intern at Philips, you will have the opportunity to investigate and create a lasting impact on our Supply Chain through a meaningful assignment in one of our SC teams. You will focus on ‘learning on the job’ as well as from SC professionals – we are looking forward to welcoming you in the Philips family!

You are responsible for

  • Support the development of customer centric solutions that enable the improvement of our critical performance in our distribution network.
  • Have exposure to different departments of the Supply Chain, working with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Be a champion for innovation and digitization of the supply chain in a large-scale multinational company.
  • Opportunity to work on exciting technology or process innovation within our Supply Chain; such as AGV, integrated planning, satellite warehouses, track & trace, image recognition, inventory management, etc.
  • Define, measure, and analyze our customers needs to identify the value of the innovation.
  • Build and communicate a business case about the value of implementing the innovation.
  • Coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders the required analysis for the experimentation/pilot of innovation.
  • Support the Supply Chain innovation developments by sharing insights and communicating across internal communication channels on our improvement opportunities.

You are a part of

a Supply Chain team, located in the Netherlands at either our Amsterdam, Best, Drachten, or Eindhoven location. The location is dependent on the assignment and team.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Currently studying towards a master’s degree related to data and analytics, engineering or Supply Chain
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit – ambitious, well-develop organizational skills, eager to learn and to challenge the status quo
  • Analytical with systems- and conceptual-thinking mindset
  • Skills related to programming, advance data analytics and network optimization are a plus
  • Business fluency in English – for some positions Dutch might be required

In return, we offer you

A unique and challenging internship assignment! And the opportunity to implement solutions that add value to our strategic innovation, performance, and transformation priorities. Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €900 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata
  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.
  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €145,- net
  • Paid holidays per internship term
  • The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop
