The Deployment organization, including this Deployment Specialist ITL position, is an enterprise capability established to ensure successful implementation of our enterprise solutions within the business using a consistent methodology and approach that delivers our enterprise goals within the defined release schedule. As a member of the global Deployment organization, the Deployment Specialist will be responsible for helping ensure that the voice and needs of our business are sufficiently met in relation to the process and system changes being implemented. They will be partnering with the business experts within the regions and sites and helping to guide them through the deployment process and ensuring that the business teams are positioned for success in the use of the new or changed process and system solutions. They will provide targeted expertise for designated areas of the overall process and systems (Finance, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Procurement, Sales, etc.) and also bring the program delivery know-how for the deployment methodology and solution deployment processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with members of the global deployment and project leadership teams, drive execution and completion of business-facing deliverables and activities in preparation for and during the go-live phase of the project
  • Lead and influence business and project team discussions and decisions for their specific process/solution areas of expertise
  • Help manage cross-team deployment issues and interdependencies that are critical for the successful deployment of the solution
  • Understand ADM’s global standard processes and help identify areas where the business may require additional plans and activities required for a successful go-live of the solution
  • Partner with a variety of enterprise and regional leaders and business experts to identify key deployment risks and drive execution of risk mitigation plans
  • Work with the data migration leads and business experts to ensure that the data scope and solution design can be adopted by the business
  • Help to coordinate and identify business focal points involved in testing, training and security role implementation in support of the deployment go-live
  • Help identify key dependencies between data migration and business cutover activities, including development of detailed cutover checklists and go-live readiness tasks
  • During hypercare, partner with business process and solution teams to help identify and implement resolution for defects or key risks identified post go-live
  • Apply knowledge of business and regional practices to adapt the approach and execution plans for end user training to ensure sufficient business understanding is in place for the go-live
  • Help prepare and support execution of business continuity plans for a successful go-live
  • Provide expertise and deployment support for implementation of key regulatory or compliance-related activities (ex: Works Councils updates or audit requests).
  • Partner with deployment leadership and business experts to identify and implement continuous improvements opportunities as the program plans are executed across each release.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of business process or solution expertise for one or more areas, including participation in at least one global ERP project/program implementation
  • SAP solution implementation experience in Product Lifecycle Management
  • Understanding of data migration activities required to deploy an integrated solution
  • Exposure to a variety of program delivery methodologies, including waterfall and agile
  • Ability to identify key deployment risks for the business/region and to facilitate and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Solid understanding of release planning concepts and governance practices
  • Demonstrated understanding of cutover planning and execution of key business activities during the pre- and post-go live periods
  • Experience working in a global team, including hands-on experience in delivering complex goals and objectives
  • Process-orientation – this role is a key contributor to establishing a repeatable and standardized approach to deployments across businesses and regions. The desire to document, simplify and standardize our business-related activities and deployment approach is a critical capability for this role.
  • Understands and can support implementation of organizational change management activities to help ensure the business can adopt the solution and obtain the intended value from it
  • Conflict management skills – ability to understand and balance enterprise practices and global standard solutions with the unique business-related needs most critical for a successful go-live; helping to identify trade-offs and negotiate options to ensure progress is made in alignment with target program delivery dates while not sacrificing key business and customer-related needs and impacts.
  • Solid English communication skills and ability to present information to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences including end users, program leaders, and regional business leaders
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and with multiple levels of the organization and cope with rapidly changing information
  • Maintains a positive work environment through teamwork and effective working relationships across a globally distributed team and working styles
  • Ability to deal with multiple competing priorities and operate with a sense of urgency and delivery focus
  • Expected to work occasional weekends, holidays, overtime, or a variety of shifts, when needed, to meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to achieve business objectives
