Where you fit in

Shell Health BeNeFrUx is a team of health professionals that all work towards the same goal of protecting worker health and to manage health risks to as low a level as possible, whilst meeting the high standards we expect, offering fit for purpose, value-add, practical solutions. The team is delivering integrated, preventive health support on a broad range of subjects that can be clustered around PROTECT, PROMOTE and ACCESS. As our Industrial Hygienist, you will be using your expertise and guidance to support existing assets across all Shell's lines of business. You will be a member of a global network of Industrial Hygienists, all committed to the same vision, tapping into broad knowledge and experience. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with other colleagues in and outside Shell Health.

What's the role?

Deliver IH activities such as HRA and exposure monitoring as per asset plan and monitor implementation of remedial actions to support the business in protecting worker health. This role will:

  • Work under supervision, but independently, on assigned Industrial Hygiene activities, such as hygiene monitoring programs and health risk assessments to comply with Shell requirements and local legislation
  • Act as a first point of contact for the asset with regard to industrial hygiene matters.
  • Provide support for assets to implement remedial actions in a cost-effective manner
  • Provide input for establishing site policies, procedures, control measures and training.
  • Be able to use correctly the industrial hygiene terminology and prepare reports of own work
  • Actively balance the regional delivery role with the horizontal input as required to the Central teams
  • When faced with business issues and requests, first leverage existing expertise from the asset class specialists

What we need from you

Professional skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering/Science or a health discipline (nursing, toxicology, ergonomics etc.)
  • Exposure to Industrial Hygiene practice.
  • Exposure to industrial or laboratory environment is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of local legislative requirements on workplace health and safety
  • Experience with ATEX, storage of dangerous goods, (construction) projects, is a plus.
  • Fluent in Dutch. Verbal skills in English.
  • Driver's license
