Sales Representatives

Purpose of the role:

The incumbent is a member of the JTI Field Force and works under the direct supervision of the Field Force Manager. He/she is supported or steered by the Operational Planner, who provides specific direction on how to operate and where. He/she is responsible for the in-store commercial and relationship-building activities within his/her territory. He/she will negotiate the implementation and execution of the JTI Brand, Channel, Segment, Category and/or Account Strategy. He/she will collect all relevant data to measure customers' achievements and to keep track of competitive actions, consumer, customer and trade trends.

What are you going to do?

Provide insight and implement plans

As a JTI Sales Representative you agree on arrangements with your customers about the range of tobacco products and subsequently implement them. You will visit specialized tobacco shops, newsagents, convenience stores, supermarkets, petrol stations and hospitality establishments, for example, to advise them on the appropriate range of JTI products such as Camel and Winston. You will give your contacts insight into the figures and convince them of the appropriate actions to attract attention to our products as effectively as possible. You report your findings to the Field Force Manager.

Maintain and expand customer relationships

You will have contact with your customers on a daily basis. This is important as it keeps you up to date with their situation so that you can support them even better and help them be more successful. Thanks to your regular conversations with them you know your customers, their business and neighborhood very well and you know exactly what they need from you. Conversely, your customers will also come to you and, over time, become and ambassadors for your products.

Business advisor:duties

You are your customers’ business partner. You advise them on the basis of market and sales figures and trends in the FMCG market. Thus helping them to achieve their goals.

Monitoring:

You ensure that agreements are observed. You give retailers tips on how they can implement the agreed actions more effectively and keep an eye on the freshness of our products.

Your responsibilities:

  • Daily visits to JTI sales outlets and customers.
  • Making shelf agreements with your customers about the JTI range to be carried;
  • Implementing agreements made and monitoring throughout the year;
  • Translating developments and new trends within your segment back to your customers;
  • Searching for solutions to help your customers be as successful as possible.

Who are you?

  • You have a higher education or equivalent level of professional and intellectual ability;
  • You preferably have 1-3 years of experience in a sales-related position within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector or have gained experience in a sales-related job;
  • Your command of Dutch and English is excellent;
  • You have MS Office skills (Word and Excel);
  • You hold a driving license B and live in the Haarlem / Leiden region;

Your strength is interpreting figures in order to make the right decisions based on them. This is where you can really benefit from your creativity because with your inventiveness you see opportunities everywhere. You have empathy and persuasiveness. Your outgoing personality helps you connect with people quickly.
