Role: Project researcher

During your assignment you will be working in the International FSQ team alongside peers always trying to reach the next level. You’ll be reporting into the Manager for Food Safety & Quality - Microbiology as part of the Tiger Project Team. You will be involved in a pivotal project involving our iconic Tomato Ketchup!

Role brief

You will use your analytical and research skills to review scientific literature and apply your findings to activities in Kraft Heinz factories. As part of the project you will interact with various colleagues across the International Zone including those in senior roles. You will need to be able to work independently and be comfortable collating data from multiple sources.

Key Activities

Literature Search

  • Collate- analyze and report on current internal knowledge regarding Lactic Acid bacteria spoilage of Tomato Ketchup
  • Complete a literature search of published papers regarding Lactic Acid Bacteria and Yeast spoilage microorganism​

Co-ordination of scientific studies

  • Define and co-ordinate laboratory studies to identify growth rates for different Lactic Acid Bacteria strains
  • Co-ordinate laboratory studies and factory work to establish impact of identification methods and sequencing.

Input of findings into Microbiological guidance

  • Use the information collected during literature searches and experimental studies to input into Project Tiger outputs

Job Requirements

  • Education: Science or Microbiology background
  • Must be studying in the Netherlands and be enrolled in university 50% of your program workload for the duration of the Internship
  • Work Experience: Not required but is an advantage
  • Knowledge: Microsoft Office
  • Language Knowledge: Fluent in English
