Your Role: 

This role is key to the succesful deployment and future development of Demand Planning within Ekaterra. 

The Demand Planning Centre of Excellence Manager in the Tea business is responsible for the continuous improvement of the Demand Planning tools and processes.

  • This is a key role that interacts with other parts of Supply Chain but also with Sales, Marketing, Finance and IT to ensure cross-functional alignment as we develop new ways of working.

  • Interaction with planning experts outside the company is encouraged to bring Demand Planning best practice into the business.

  • Bringing a sense of pragmatism to the planning requirements for the Tea business will be key so that we optimise the solutions we put in place in terms of complexity and cost.

Your Key Tasks: 

  • Understand internal and external business requirements as it relates to the cross functional planning solutions scope

  • Develop a Demand Planning Solution that accurately translates these business requirements to the new planning tools and ensures the design will meet ekaterra current and future requirements

  • Work closely with Supply Planning, TPM and Finance teams to ensure the data flows and interfacing between the landscape of IT tools functions effectively

  • Build a statistical baseline creation process and lead the project to bring the current ways of working in-house

  • Standardization of Demand Planning processes and tools across ekaterra

  • Measuring performance and driving improvement activities

  • Guidance and governance for the Demand Planning community including bench marking between MUs and countries and replicating best practice where appropriate

  • Manage the team of subject matter experts

  • Lead the set-up of DP/S&OP tools best practice training and develop an on-going training program

Stakeholder Management and key interfaces:

  • Leads a team of 2 Demand Planning experts

  • Key contact for ekaterra global Demand Planning community

  • Key contact for key planning tool vendors such as SAP and Kinaxis

  • Reports to Head of Operations and Transformation

Skills and Experience 

Demand Planning Management

  • At least 5 years in FMCG Demand Planning Management

  • Has hands-on knowledge of baseline creation using statistical forecasting

  • Ideally has Subject Management Expert experience

  • Experienced in effectively interacting and communicating with business partners

  • Can consolidate business requirements and translate them into IT deliverables

  • Can cite company or industry specific examples of successes, failures and lessons learned

Application Implementation

  • Has experience of planning tools implementation in a complex global business

  • Ideally has experience of Kinaxis Rapid Response or similar cloud-based supply chain planning tools and experience of SAP4Hana

  • Ideally has experience of Machine Learning and Data Lakes


  • To be agile and drive simple process design and continuous improvement

  • Driven by process improvement and strong change affinity  

  • Have strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills with diverse, multi-functional stakeholders  

  • Independent, self-starter, ability to discover opportunities and grow the business

  • Must be passionate about Tea

  • A passionate Networker and a natural relationship builder
