BACKGROUND

The Global Value Channel is second only to e-Commerce in growth and importance across our business. To achieve our channel ambition, it is critical that that we continue to deliver sustainable growth ahead of the rest of the business also with Action. Together with Lidl and Aldi, Action is one of the centralized customers within the Value Channel. 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Within the Global Customer Development Organized Retail team, you will be at the center of where global CD strategy is created and will be responsible for delivering long term results which shape the trajectory of our business.

Our ambition is to support our local markets to deliver both internal & external incremental value by delivering Customer Development Future-Fit priorities through strategic partnership with our global customers.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?

  • Lead the commercial relationship with Action, whilst delivering a sustainable and accelerated growth agenda.
  • Lead and deliver centralized contract negotiations on behalf of Unilever markets, focus on high impact growth or risk mitigation initiatives (focus on topline and competitive growth for Unilever).
  • Own the co-ordination, governance, and conflict resolution across Unilever markets for Lidl, whilst representing Unilever to this Retailer.
  • Represent Action to cross functional teams to deliver initiatives to unlock a future fit growth agenda (addressing the key requirements of its unique Customer Economic Model) – work closely with the Value Channel team as the key internal interface.
  • Develop and share customer-specific capabilities, best practice examples and negotiation learnings across Unilever market teams.

WHO ARE YOU: 

This is a high-profile management role with exposure across both Global and Local Customer Development teams (within Unilever) and carries the accountability of leading the commercial relationship with Action together with delivering sustainable growth for Unilever. The role requires a strong manager who has potential to grow. The person in this role will have a commercial / selling background, with strong customer management and negotiation skills.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5+ years commercial working experience in Customer Development or equivalent.
  • You are a best-in-class negotiator, who can create value for both the Customer & Unilever.  
  • You know how to navigate through the organization and can influence at all levels.
  • You like to collaborate and are a true teambuilder.
  • Trade category and channel experience is an added advantage.
  • Professional English and Dutch is required. French/German would be considered as a bonus.
