What will you be doing?


By joining the Unilever Future Leaders Digital & Analytics Programme, we want to show you the various elements of our digital teams and how our data analytics teams come together. We are on a journey of transforming our organization to adopt agile ways of working, through tools, practices, and principles – as well as a flexible mindset and culture.


Our Digital vision is to become the most consumer centric FMCG in the Benelux, through holistic consumer insights, digital innovation, value-based content delivery and fit for channel sales. Technology and data-driven working are at the heart of this. This can be as part of our commercial digital teams working on optimizing online customer experiences to optimizing our back-end operations processes through automation and tooling.


We firmly believe that to become the most consumer centric FMCG, we need to get digital analytics expertise in our DNA. It takes both building digital and data knowledge with all our employees and building expertise teams with the right capabilities.


In one project you might be initiating the migration of our core brands’ websites from start to end, while on another project you are partnering with the Brand and Digital team on website optimization or visualizing data in dashboards to unlock our consumer insights. You might be working with experienced data scientists and engineers to improve the demand forecast process for our Sales and Operations cycle, or you are optimizing our processes with predictive models and using machine learning to drive better accuracy in forecasting, improving our delivery rates and directly impacting our business results. The limitless opportunities at Unilever create fully engaging innovative entrepreneurship. Our people make a big impact every day.


What do we look for?


It might come as a surprise, but you do not need a specific degree background. A genuine passion for business, brands, digital technology, and data is a must. You need to have a natural affinity for data analytics and data-driven decision making, as well as some basic knowledge on how to use this with tools. It takes a mix of analytical insight and creative business thinking to succeed.


You have a strong affinity with digital and business intelligence, and you can expand your mind to think as a consumer. You bring a digital mindset and will be tackling business challenges in an agile and disruptive manner. If you are ambitious, determined, and excited by the most recent technological developments whilst liking to think strategically about how their value could be harnessed on a global scale, then this is the career path for you.


What will the programme involve?


The program is designed to grow you into a manager, within 3 years, through hands-on learning alongside world-class experts. You'll develop your individual leadership skills by working on live projects that will offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role. You will have at least three rotations within the program; these will give you a wide range of experiences in a broad range of dynamic and exciting areas of the business:


You will start your career joining our Field Force team for two months, to learn our core business, consumers and customers During this period, you learn more about our business, meet other Unilever future leaders, our clients and get familiar with our products.


Please note that for Unilever the safety and health of our employees is top priority – therefore the continuation of the two-month Field Force rotation will depend on the Covid-19 situation at that time and the policy we have on travels.Either way we will make sure to create an exciting onboarding!


The programme is packed with variety and challenge, designed to lead you through to your first managerial position. You will complete different rotations partnering many of our different business functions, including Operations, (Digital) Marketing, Customer Development (Sales), Supply Chain, Finance, or HR.


Career possibilities: During this time, you’ll take on a variety of roles, be that working on digital strategies, landing solutions in our markets or working outside of the data or analytics function to learn more about our broad organization. You’ll gain hands on experience with real business challenges. From using data analytics to implement new disruptive ways of working up to collaborating with a digital agency on partner platforms. First-hand experience is the fastest way to learn, and you will have real responsibility afforded to you from day one.


During the programme you receive on-going development through a learning roadmap to build your skills and leadership but also to build specific Digital and Analytics skills and knowledge. Next to this, each UFLP is assigned a mentor to guide you through the 3-year programme. 


Support and empowerment: We'll support you every step of the way to senior management but much of your progress will be up to you. You'll need to be focused and ambitious to get where you want, identifying opportunities and taking responsibility for your own development.

Requirements for application

  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlands at the start of the programme. Search year / orientation year visa is accepted as well.
  • You have obtained your Master’s degree at the start date of the UFLP (1 March 2022).
  • Intermediate level of Dutch is preferred but not required for our commercial track.


Application Process

Our online application period runs from Friday 1 October until Friday 22 October 2021, end of day. You need to have finished until stage 4 (the Digital Interview) at the end of the online application period (by October 22) to be eligible for the Unilever Future Leaders Programme. We work on a first come, first serve base so finish all stages as soon as possible. In case of many good candidates, we may decide to close earlier. In that case, we will communicate this.

Stage 5: Discovery Center Day**

Stage 6: Job Offer.
