Within Microsoft Industry Solutions’ Azure Cloud and AI Domain, the Solution Architecture Office (SAO) is a team of seasoned architects & data scientists responsible for supporting our 4000+ strong consulting teams deliver against aligned technical strategies using high quality and predictable methods. The SAO team’s role is to support and enable the consulting teams in the field to sell and deliver with predictability, repeatability, consistency and quality across all Time Zones sales & delivery teams while driving IP reuse and leverage of best practices. The SAO team will also deploy its highly skilled resources to support significant pre-sales engagements and major delivery projects, typically in a governance or leadership role.

This role has a dedicated focus on transforming how our customers exploit their data as they move to the cloud – and laying the foundations for being data driven organisations.

Responsibilities

This role requires a strong focus on infusing Data & AI workloads into Digital Transformation opportunities and ensuring the full Microsoft value proposition is positioned with these customers. The roll will also support the enablement of high quality delivery outcomes with colleagues in the timezones. You and your peers will work closely with WW and Timezone Delivery leadership, Community champions, product Group & engineering teams, CSU, CSE, Marketing, and peer SAO teams. Success requires both a passion for pre-sales and also high quality solution delivery.

  • Balancing a portfolio of pre-sales and delivery work
  • Balancing requirements to both support reactive requests to support timezone sales & delivery teams, with the proactive delivery of global programmes
  • Be a leading contributor to the D&AI global Domain Community and driving participation, knowledge sharing, IP discovery/reuse working closely with Time Zones sales & delivery teams, Technology and Role-based community leads, engineering and marketing teams
  • Planning, leading and orchestrating regular team & community calls
  • Working closely with solution marketing teams (SST) on leveraging presales & delivery IP and methods to assist in the creation of Offering IP and vice versa
  • Work with Chief Architect & Arch Managers and peers to determine priorities for global programmes, skilling, IP etc.
  • Serving as a channel for feedback from the field around readiness needs
  • Working closely with Solution Strategy teams to help develop and provide input to sales, IP, compete, and GTM strategies and execution approaches

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND significant experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND proven experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical sales experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in Azure Data Architecture
  • Experience creating architectural frameworks and governance for scalable cross-industry solutions
  • Modern Data Strategy frameworks and Architectures
  • Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Databricks
  • Data & Analytics Compete insights – Redshift, Snowflake, Teradata, SAGE Maker, Big Query, OMNI, Hadoop (CDH)
  • Awareness of core OSS AI DL frameworks – PyTorch, Tensorflow
  • Proven success and expertise in positioning and architecting innovative Data and AI solutions within strategic customers in a client-facing role
  • Ability to deliver against the Data & AI value proposition across multiple transformation horizons – H1, H2 and H3.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise scale data strategies – inc data management and data governance
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and credibility with customers
  • Ability to build trust to drive change with customers
  • Track record of delivering quality solutions as a technical leader
  • Executes recognized Architectural methods, processes and tools
  • A passion for learning about and experimenting with new technologies
  • Confidence in creating and delivering technical presentations and training
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to Information Technology/Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent)
