The Job…

NewMotion is looking to recruit a Dutch and English speaking P&A Account manager to focus on the Dutch market to:

(1) co-develop joint policy positions with Shell’s wider Policy & Advocacy, Corporate Relations and Regulatory Affairs Teams, which are responsible for policy development, lobbying, campaigning and regulatory support.

(2) own policy positions for NewMotion in the respective market and ensure the organisation (i.e. product owners) knows relevant rules and regulations in order to provide compliant products & services

And

(3) participate in relevant trading associations and represent/advocate NewMotion´s/Shell´s positions and asks.

Reporting Structure

Size & scope of team:

● Direct: no direct reports

● Indirect: needs to work closely with compliance, product & legal colleagues within NewMotion and Policy & Advocacy resources within the wider Shell community.

Your core accountabilities are to...

Policy & Compliance

  1. act as NewMotion’s focal point for policy development, providing input specific to NewMotion to the dedicated e-mobility personnel within Shell’s wider Policy & Advocacy, Corporate Relations and Regulatory Affairs teams as they craft policy positions at both regional and local levels. That way you are part of a team developing joint positions/asks enabling a broad adoption of electric mobility that will be advocated by the Shell group as a whole.
  2. follow the developments in local policy and regulation making closely, understand potential implications for NewMotion and enable/activate active advocacy for policies that might benefit NewMotion´s vision of driving e-mobility.
  3. enable compliance by advising internal NewMotion colleagues and teams on public policy matters to ensure relevant information for the development of compliant products and services is available & understood.

Lobbying and Advocacy

  1. identify the best way to place and advocate main positions & ask of NewMotion with relevant official bodies & the regulator per se in collaboration with local Corporate Relations and central Policy & Advocacy resources of the wider Shell group.
  2. Represent NewMotion in trade associations/bodies, as part of a wider Shell trade association strategy & ensure participation of other suitable colleagues in other relevant bodies.
  3. Act as NewMotion’s focal point for the Shell teams which manage external relationships and stakeholder advocacy, providing inputs to Shell’s Policy & Advocacy -, Corporate Relations- and Regulatory teams and co-develop and -deliver contact programmes on behalf of the business. This could include providing these teams with the detail behind NewMotion’s business objectives; briefing senior staff; attending meetings as a Subject Matter Experts and / or providing business inputs to consultations, briefing papers, slide decks, public reports and other material as required by P&A, CR and Regulatory Affairs.

Campaigns & Consultations

  1. Contribute to/coordinate NewMotion inputs to official consultations, where they are relevant for more Shell businesses and therefore CR-lead; where consultations are limited to NewMotion's business, responses might be led by the Policy & Advocacy account manager directly
  2. Support (CR-led) campaigns to influence public sentiment and to demonstrate to Shell’s wider customers that we are leading the agenda, i.e. providing the business focal point for CR activity such as media moments, articles, speeches from senior leaders, coalitions and reports.

Subsidy Support

  1. Liaise with Global teams, corporate Relations and skim the market to identify which grants and subsidies are applicable for NewMotion.
  2. Create a high-level business case to show the underlying value of the specific subsidy/grant for NewMotion (incl. feedback loops withTech&Ops teams to ensure required data and insights are made available) and ensure relevant people are made aware.

● ...make sure that relevant central Newmotion Teams are aware of the developments in regulations and subsidies to help maximise NewMotion’s license to operate in your local market
