Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Drive the development of sourcing strategies and management of global technology suppliers and start-ups for best value, quality and service including but not limited to:
- Strategic supplier selection, contracting, renewals, life cycle planning and costing
- Deployment of both agile sourcing and progressive onboarding techniques
- Realization of stakeholder management to maximize total value contribution
- Assure achieving compliance targets with policies, strategies, and processes
- Strive to meet the mutually agreed Procurement targets contributing to the overall budget targets
Key Responsibilities:
Define sourcing strategy for the global category Digital & IT Solutions
- Analyze relevant contracts to identify opportunities for savings and revenue assurance
- Benchmark category practices to identify initiatives for improvement
- Develop, deliver and maintain a Digital & IT Sourcing Roadmap consistent with the Business strategy
- Develop and leverage strong business and professional relationships with both strategic and niche suppliers
- Define P2P and buying channel strategies, identify and consider automation potential and P2P/ channel effectiveness
Develop and leverage industry, technology and supplier knowledge:
- Employ advanced knowledge of both key global technology players and start-ups
- Proficiently manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance improvement
- Initiate internal and external analysis (industry and supplier)
- Consolidate requirements and act as business partner for business and IT functions
- Reposition
- the Digital & IT solutions portfolio to fuel growth by balancing cost and capability
Support the work and efforts of a cross-functional sourcing team in all stages of a strategic sourcing project:
- Collaborate and align with global/ market/ country procurement teams as applicable
- Drive supplier selection and fact-based negotiations
- Lead RfX execution: Select supplier and drive fact-based negotiations
- Collaborate with legal to finalize contractual agreement and its administration
- Work with Procurement Leads to implement and activate contracts globally
Manage commercial supplier relationship management with key suppliers within the defined category and market scope:
- Maintain and manage relationship with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the respective category, monitors performance of key strategic suppliers according to the guidelines
- Lead supplier development activities; set up cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers to improve performance and further cost / demand reductions
- Support the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations
Manage relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives:
- Achieve “buy-in” from key stakeholders in the market for major procurement initiatives
- Create and outline contribution for budget improvements
- Foster that business needs are being identified, represented and incorporated into category strategies
- Act as Point of Contact for the business to assure business requirements are met

- Procurement: VP, Senior Director, Director Levels
- Business & IT: VP, Senior Director, Director, Senior Manager, Manager Levels
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in identifying and exploiting new value streams enabled by the creative application of existing or leading-edge technologies
- Advanced knowledge in sourcing methodologies and concepts, business partnering and category management within the Digital & IT Solutions
- Knowledge of, and passion for, technology trends e.g. Predictive Analytics, Advanced Machine Learning, Big Data, RPA, Blockchain, Internet of Things
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and agile practices needed to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
- Strong ability to analyze specifications and influence demand
- Capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group
- Good analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
- Proficiency in MS Office and preferably SAP MM/ SRM
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
- Travel of up to 20%
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of
- Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in a similar functional domain or other related positions, preferably knowledge of category at hand; experience with supplier selection, negotiation and contracting
