The Ocean Cleanup’s products and materials need to be transparent to consumers and differentiate from the ocean plastic branded products already available on the markets to be commercially successful.

"By developing a Quality Management System that adheres to the “Plastics collected in the hydrosphere chain of custody system” we bring transparency to our operations. The Chain of Custody standard enables us to communicate clearly, effectively and transparently about the ocean origin of our material by having a clear third-party validated certification label on our products that is visible to consumers.”, David Cecchini, QESH Manager
