Mission to metrics
The mission of The Ocean Cleanup is to develop technology to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. In order to do so, we need to ensure the required funds and support for our operations. Using plastic in products will help to fund our operations. The Ocean Cleanup’s products and materials need to be transparent to consumers and differentiate from the ocean plastic branded products already available on the markets to be commercially successful.
"By developing a Quality Management System that adheres to the “Plastics collected in the hydrosphere chain of custody system” we bring transparency to our operations. The Chain of Custody standard enables us to communicate clearly, effectively and transparently about the ocean origin of our material by having a clear third-party validated certification label on our products that is visible to consumers.”, David Cecchini, QESH Manager
