Internship Opportunities in Customer Facing Technology

Responsibilities

Typical roles within the Customer Facing Technology stream are Technical Solution Professional, Technical Account Manager, Cloud Solution Architect, Technical Specialist, Consultant.

Technical Solutions Professional

As a Technical Solution Professional you work in the pre-sales team with enterprise customers to help them understand the how-to of technologies. As you are the technical expertise within the Microsoft Cloud product portfolio your role is to assistant sellers in technical discussions, design solutions and drive customer engagements through proof-of-concepts. Your goal is to prove the value proposition and benefits of the designed solution and architectures. You will work with a wide range of systems and design any kind of solution with customers in multiple industries. Your goal is to be an advisor with deep technical knowledge. It is a role that allows you to be in the forefront and develop and work with the latest and greatest technology.

Technical Account Manager (TAM)

A TAM is a trusted business advisor to Microsoft’s Premier Support customers. You will provide valuable on the operation and optimization of their IT infrastructure through quality Service Delivery Management. If something unexpected occurs after a Premier customer has deployed a Microsoft product, you will work with Global Business Support (GBS) to manage the incident to resolution and follow up to make sure there’s either operational improvement for the customer or a product improvement underway at Microsoft. By maintaining a long-term relationship with customers, you will gain a thorough understanding of the organization’s IT goals, pain points, and the IT team’s impact on overall business. You will use this information to create a service delivery plan to make sure customers are finding success with Microsoft products.

Cloud Solution Architect

The Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) is a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them to unlock the full potential of the Azure Platform. CSAs are responsible for enhancing the customer experience with the Azure platform, using consultative methods to ensure that the customer can realize the full business value of the cloud platform.​ CSAs will be split by specialism focusing on either infrastructure, data or application development. As a CSA, you are responsible for a customers experience with the Azure platform, how the customer uses the cloud to deploy applications quickly and effectively, how they store their business data, how they run their entire business using our trusted cloud platform. The CSA is running technical workshops with the customer to help them understand new features in Azure as the cloud continues to evolve again ensuring they are getting as much business value as possible out of the Azure platform.

Technical Specialist

Technical Specialist (TS) drive the technical motions within sales driving specific solution area revenue and market share. Based on the tremendous opportunity of digital transformation across every individual and organization, we focus our broad portfolio of assets and go-to-market efforts across four key solution areas: Modern Workplace, Business Applications, Apps & Infrastructure, and Data & AI. As a TS, you work alongside Business Development and Solutions Architect teams who source, generate and qualify opportunities within the sales lifecycle. TSs enable, manage, and implement, cutting edge and legacy technologies in large enterprises.

Consultant

Consultants are strategists who work closely with information technology decision makers and business owners who come to Microsoft for specific and unique solutions. Our consultants evaluate, design, and implement enterprise infrastructures and IT business solutions, often working on-site to help customers deploy their solutions. This role requires a breadth of technology knowledge and the ability to implement a solution by mapping a customer's business problems to a technology solution.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a full time Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in econometrics, mathematics, physics, computer science or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and public speaking skills.
  • Passion for technology and for collaborating with external customers, such as a student technology consultant role or job.
  • Technical background, e.g. with software coding experience in both class work and external projects.
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English is required.
  • Available to start in October 2020, on a full time basis for 6 month.
  • Full work authorization in the Netherlands is required.
