International Management Trainee

Business Development, Marketing & Sales

We offer an 18 month program for a new group of trainees who start working in a specific functional domain in The Netherlands. Apart from the international contacts in your assignments, you will spend time in a second country to put the learnings from your assignments into practice. You end with a 3-month experience in a second functional domain. The operational specifics for a traineeship are determined by the line manager and yourself, depending on the specific business needs and your personal interests. After the first year, we evaluate and review potential future positions within our company. The ultimate goal of this traineeship is that you would be appointed in a sales position within one of our regional Sales offices, Intentionally in EMEA Wuppertal Germany) or in the US (Conyers) but our other regions may be consider as well. You will be hired on the basis of a local contract in Germany or US.

Your role

These particular trainee position starts at our Head Office in Arnhem - Netherlands for a period of 6-8 months in the Industrial Business development team, dealing with our ‘Industrial’ markets. You create business strategies and execution plans for some of our most promising business opportunities.

After this you will be transferred to the regional sales office in Wuppertal (Germany) or Conyers (USA) for a period of 6-8 months where you, together with the sales force team, will bring your sales plans to life at (potential) customers. You broaden your experience by making a 3-month side step in Logistics, Purchase, Marketing or Technology.

  • Analysis and identification of the value propositions of our products, competitors activities and alternative products available in the market;
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities (new markets and applications);
  • Create a business strategy and sales plan for the top business opportunities;
  • Build up business development and sales skills on international basis and guide the go-to-market through the sales regions;
  • Develop your personals skills relating to negotiating-, leadership-, time-, change- and project management;

Here’s what you need

For this Traineeship you have a Bachelor or Master degree (e.g. Business Administration, Engineering, Material science). Furthermore:

  • Less than 2 years of work experience after graduation;
  • Strong commercial skills (relations manager) with technical affinity;
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to different multi-national cultures;
  • Ability to design and execute an account plan and strategy within an account
  • Negotiation skills and persuasiveness;

Personal skills

  • A self-starter with entrepreneurial team spirit;
  • Acting with integrity and courage to deliver a great customer experience;
  • You are result driven, show ownership, have a strong market orientation and customer focus;
  • You always learn and show the ambition to grow towards more senior roles;
  • You connect easily to several stakeholders throughout the organization;
  • Willing to travel.

Our Industrial Market team is located in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The EMEA sales office is located in Wuppertal, Germany, and Teijin Aramid’s largest sales office worldwide. The commercial team includes professionals from a wide range of countries and backgrounds and forms the core of this sales office. Our account managers and customer service agents jointly serve customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The America’s sales offices and its commercial team are based in Conyers (USA) and Sao Paulo (Brasil).
