ABOUT THE ROLE

The TripActions Marketing Team is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to take TripActions’ growth to the next level. In this role, your job is to be the expert on our users (companies and travelers), our product and our value proposition. As the connective tissue between our product, marketing and sales teams, you’ll define our product positioning and optimize our go-to-market strategies. You’ll partner closely with the product team to determine our product roadmap and own the launch of new features and initiatives that will accelerate our growth, drive user satisfaction and develop our brand. You’ll be the main voice of our customers, developing target personas, refining our value proposition and building materials to enable Sales team success. The work you do enables the success of the entire marketing and sales organizations.

The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated self-starter who can maintain a balance between proactive ideation and efficient, high-quality execution. You have a proven background in product marketing at a high-growth technology start-up. You have a strong bias to action with an ability to ruthlessly prioritize. You’re obsessed with data and have proven your ability to work effectively across teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define & iterate on the TripActions value proposition for each of our key user groups (At company level: 1. Finance leadership (VP, CFO) 2. Business travel manager 3. Experimental: Recruiting/HR)
  • At user level: 1. C-Suite 2. Road warriors (travel 3x+/month) 3. Typical traveler

  • Coordinate user research (qualitative and quantitative) to better understand our users and develop target personas

  • Conduct competitive research to better understand travel industry landscape and implement a strategy for differentiation
  • Drive awareness and understanding of key TripActions features through multi-channel campaigns targeting companies and travelers
  • Partner with the product team to define the product roadmap and ensure high-quality execution by being the voice of the user in design and development review sessions
  • Own the launch of new product features and initiatives, including positioning, messaging and tactics to drive awareness & adoption (website, PR, blog, email, social, in-product messaging, paid channels, etc)
  • Build & refine materials to enable Sales team success including pitch decks & one-sheeters; partner with the content team on content marketing initiatives (Yes, Creative Director will lead content team. Will use contractors in short-term and hire full-time Q1ish)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years product marketing experience at a top technology company and/or fast-growing start-up
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with product, sales, PR and multiple functions within marketing
  • Excellent communication skills. You’re a clear, concise and compelling storyteller across written, verbal and visual formats
  • Analytical mindset. You effectively use qualitative and quantitative data to make clear decisions that move the business forward.
  • Self-starter with a penchant for experimentation. You’re always looking for ways to do your job better and you never wait to be told what to do. When you see an opportunity, you jump on it.
  • A positive attitude: You’re a team player and you’re resilient in the face of challenges
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize
  • Experience at a start-up or in a scrappy, fast-moving culture is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or graduate degree preferred
  • An undeniable passion for travel
