­­Department Overview

The Upjohn Regulatory Affairs, UK & Ireland department supports both the UK and Irish markets and interacts with all areas of the Pfizer business; this includes the medical and commercial teams and is the interface between Pfizer and the UK and Irish Regulatory Authorities. This position is based in the UK.

We are a busy friendly team that deals with a variety of activities to support the Pfizer business with the patients need being at the heart of everything we do.

What can I achieve and what will I be responsible for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

The Upjohn Regulatory Affairs, UK & Ireland department will be able to give you an insight and opportunity to work with experienced regulatory affairs professionals. Through working in a busy regulatory environment you can look forward to developing regulatory knowledge, business skills and being a valued team player. These skills will include understanding regulatory and compliance requirements, multi-tasking through working on a variety of projects and development of a ‘right first time’ mind set.

Opportunities within this role will include:

  • Gaining regulatory expertise that will include knowledge of EU/national legislation, guidelines and the regulatory environment for utilisation in development and delivery of optimal regulatory strategies and plans to support the achievement of country business goals for both licensed and development products.
  • Building personal expertise through management of specified products within one or more therapy areas.
  • Understanding Good Regulatory Practice (GRP) by adhering to relevant procedures and practices to ensure GRP is maintained.

When can I start?

Placements will start on 1st September 2020 and will run for 12 months.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’:

  • On target for a 2:1 Degree Classification preferably in Life Sciences or Chemistry
  • Fluent in English is essential
  • Eligibility to work unrestricted in the UK on a full time basis
  • Strong communication skills and self confidence
  • Attention to detail
  • Open minded and willing to learn and grow, with the ability to learn fast and push yourself to be the best
