Imagine…

Imagine you can contribute to an even better Rabobank. A responsibility with real impact which you shape as an Intern joining Rabobank’s RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness (‘RRFA’) department. RRFA is part of Rabobank’s division Banking For Food Inspiration Centre (’BFIC’) which is at the core of the bank’s strategy ‘Feeding the World Sustainably by 2050’. RRFA consists of about 90 analysts across the world that each are dedicated to one or more food and agribusiness sectors.

This internship is within RRFA is in the Europe & Africa team that is responsible for all research related to Food & Agriculture (F&A) in these regions.

Rabobank's Africa activities are coordinated from Nairobi. From Nairobi a variety of Food & Agri business relationships and prospects are managed which are located across Africa. Financial services are provided to importers, exporters and domestic merchants (local champions) of a variety of commodities, to include Grains, Coffee, Sugar, Fertilizers, Edible oils and Energy. The team also serves as Rabobank's designated Africa Center of Expertise.

Rabobank is extending its presence in Africa and is looking at how to leverage and distribute its F&A knowledge to our African clients and international clients active in Africa in such a way that it fits our clients’ needs.

RRFA Research and publications form a unique selling point that can help Rabobank be successful with prospects and deepen existing relationships, and thus expand its presence in Africa.

If you are interested in F&A, Africa and knowledge distribution this might be the perfect internship for you.

Create an impact

  • We are looking for an intern who is interested in doing a market analysis for the African F&A market for a 2,5 month period of which two to three weeks in Africa.
  • A market analysis means producing an overview of which clients we serve in Africa, what knowledge they would be most interested in (commodity prices, trade flows, export/import, market developments, etc.)
  • Next to analysing what our clients want you also analyse what knowledge is available within the RRFA team and what resources are needed to produce a knowledge product for our clients in an efficient way (standard graphs and figures).
  • Your output will be a draft version of an information product, a distribution strategy and a description/procedure of how we can develop this product in an efficient way.
  • In addition, an analysis would be required of the potential to cooperate with our partner banks in the area of research. Would such cooperation be beneficial for our clients. Partner banks are banks that Rabobank has (indirectly) invested in.

With your talents

If we ask your friends to describe you in a few key words, the answer should be: customer-oriented, self-motivated, pleasant to work with.
