Want to get your career off to a flying start? The sky’s the limit with TUI. We’re the world's number one tourism business, operating in around 180 destinations worldwide, which means limitless global opportunities for you and your future.

As part of our graduate programme, you’ll spend three invaluable years working right at the heart of our business – with real responsibilities, and the chance to work on real projects. You’ll gain a unique insight into our exciting and dynamic industry, with exposure to many other functional areas and senior colleagues. You’ll have lots of fun during your time with us, and we’ll ensure you get the support you need every step of the way.

Our Finance graduate programme is complemented by an Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship, which is a unique and exciting opportunity to become a fully qualified Chartered Management Accountant as well as gain an equivalent of a Master’s degree (fully funded by TUI), whilst developing a rewarding career in our finance team. It involves three years of study while being paid in a full time permanent finance role. On completion of the graduate programme you will be awarded a professional qualification with CIMA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation, recognising your value and showcasing your professionalism, business and leadership skills, ethics and commitment.

If you’d like to know more about the content covered as part of the Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship qualification, you can do so by clicking here where you’ll be directed to an external site for more information.

What you will be doing

Here at TUI, our Finance team is integral to everything we do. Through effectively managing costs and maximising profitability, you’ll play a core part in the success of our business and will make an impact on our financial results right from the start.

Our three-year programme is designed to develop you into one of our future financial leaders. You’ll have the valuable opportunity to rotate around three of our five core areas of finance. This means you could be assigned a number of roles across any aspect of our business, such as:

  • Retail & Distribution – this team supports our stores
  • Airline – this team takes care of our planes
  • Cruise – this team looks after our ships
  • Tour Operator – this team keeps our holiday finances in check
  • Reporting and Financial Accounting – this team underpins the bottom-line financials across the business

Whichever team you join, you’ll gain a full insight and unparalleled experience in our finance function and business as a whole, and we’ll support you in your personal and professional development to ensure you’re equipped to reach your greatest potential.

You’ll study for your CIMA qualification to become a fully qualified accountant, which we’ll fully fund. You’ll receive professional tuition, study materials, additional study leave on top of your holiday allowance, as well as gaining access to a large network of CIMA graduates you can reach out to for support and further guidance.

During your time with us, you’ll also be given a buddy to help you settle into your role. You’ll be supported by a senior finance mentor who will coach you and give you advice in relation to their own experience, as well as your line manager who will make sure you’re in the best position to excel in your role. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your experience with other graduates along the way.

Depending on the team you join, your role could include responsibilities such as analysing and interpreting data to identify and understand trends, producing weekly trading reports for our brands, providing robust balance sheets, and giving critical insight into financial risks and opportunities. You could also be producing month-end performance reporting, cash flow forecasts and seasonal trading forecasts for things such as passenger numbers, costs and revenue.

You’ll support with strategic decision-making through budgets and planning, providing insights into how aspects of our business are performing, producing balance sheet reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis for management. All the while, you’ll be ensuring appropriate compliance and governance procedures are in place and adhered to.

Throughout the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships and work with stakeholders both within and outside of the finance team, including senior colleagues, on a variety of projects, giving you great exposure to our dynamic business. You’ll be empowered to make meaningful suggestions to all stakeholders, offering valued insight and driving effective decisions and solutions for TUI.
