An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fee Paid Events Coordinator to join the Imperial War Museums.

The purpose of the role is to support the Subject Specialist Network Manager to develop and deliver sector-facing events as part of the First World War Centenary (FWWC) Digital Portal project.

Launching in June 2020, the FWWC Digital Portal will be a permanent space on the IWM website which will record and share how the Centenary of the First World War was marked. The portal will be supported by a series of sector-facing events across December 2019 and January 2020. These will promote the project, ensuring participation across the cultural sector, and deliver workshops to support organisations to sustainably archive their material. The project has been funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and will be delivered by IWM as part of the legacy of the First World War Centenary Partnership through the War and Conflict Subject Specialist Network.

The War and Conflict SSN is a partnership programme led by Imperial War Museums, to build capacity, connections and confidence in the cultural heritage sector. Our aim is to share knowledge and skills amongst the many organisations and groups across the UK and further afield who cover war and conflict since the First World War. The Network is generously supported by Arts Council England and the Art Fund.

In addition, your duties will include:

  • Event administration from planning to completion including: liaising with venues, coordinating speakers, managing the guest list and online booking system, arranging catering and suppliers
  • Assisting in the development of workshop activities and resources used by the Partnerships team
  • In collaboration with the Subject Specialist Network Manager, supporting the delivery of events at various locations across the UK
  • Working together with the Partnerships team to evaluate events as required, this may include attendee engagement, data collection and data inputting
