About the role

Alongside Softcat’s IT Team, you’ll provide a high-level of IT support and customer service to employees across the organisation. You’ll have the opportunity to gain lots of practical experience in this role – the team will always be on hand to help and support you both on the job as well as providing you with formal technical training when required. We expect you to deliver a high-level of service, ensuring all interactions with our colleagues are of a high-level is key.

You’ll log all incidents, service/change requests and problems that are raised to the IT Helpdesk, and proactively manage ticket updates to all internal customers and Vendors through to resolution. This is an exciting opportunity to work with technologies such as Network, Security, and Microsoft Office 365.

What we need from you

  • Basic understanding of software and hardware related technology such as Networking, Security and Citrix
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise requirements, whilst maintaining a focus on quality work
  • Ability to work across a breadth of Microsoft solutions such as, Windows 10, Office 365, Windows Networking, Active Directory and Exchange Server administration
  • Experience working within a virtual desktop environment (VDI)
