The Research (Library) Technician / Assistant will support the Legal and Business Research teams to deliver research and library services within the context of the Firm's Information and Research (I&R) strategy; support the Information Product Management (IPM) team and assist with contract and supplier management; assist with research enquiries and to identify relevant resources; and provide manual and operational assistance for the global Research and IPM teams as required (eg invoice management, access and licensing enquiries, supplier contract management and enquiries, etc).

Responsibilities:

Service Orientation

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with Legal and Business Research teams and managers, and IPM, teams and managers, and with In-Market Research Librarians
  • Demonstrate value through effective communication with stakeholders and key relationships

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Understand and promote the role, services and functionality of the Firm's Legal and Business Research, and Information Product Management, teams
  • Assist with the management of, and enquiries about, the Firm's information and research products, within the guidelines set by the Information Product Management team (eg access and licensing enquiries, renewals, processing invoices, trials, location, usage data, etc)
  • Assist with certain supplier, invoicing and contract management tasks, and interactions with the Procurement team, at the direction of the Information Product Management team (eg sending contracts to contract database, searching contracts and users, budget monitoring and tracking, etc)
  • Assist with the management of, and enquiries about, the Firm's research services and resources, at the direction of the Legal and Business Research teams (eg allocated research tasks, resource assessment and location, sourcing usage data, etc)
  • Ensure timely response to enquiries from the IPM, Legal and Business Research teams, and from In-Market Research Librarians or other PBS staff
  • Demonstrate ongoing learning and professional accountability that cultivates communication and collaboration, fostering immediate and long-term goals
  • Apply industry thinking, expertise, initiative and experience when responding to information and research enquiries

People Management

  • Collaborative, supportive, team player working with the Legal and Business Research, and IPM, teams, In-Market Librarians and the wider Information & Research and Knowledge communities

Work Management

  • Support and participate in the adoption and use of Knowledge and I&R systems
  • Participate in projects as requested
  • Be aware of and participate in Firm's and Knowledge group's goals

Experience Required

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree
  • Good relevant experience with strong experience of Knowledge, information and research in professional services environment
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationship virtually, communicate effectively, comfortable working in large, complex environment, highly credible and persuasive
  • Strong personal management skills; ability to prioritise own time to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver responses to enquiries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders, strong collaboration skills and effective stakeholder management
  • Strong communication skills, and highly credible presentation skills
  • Comprehension of a diverse set of knowledge and information resources, and processes
