Are you looking to make an impact on tomorrow's care for oncology patients? Are you interested in economics and healthcare? We're looking for a researcher wanting to further develop their skills in Health Economics & Health Technology Assessment.
As a junior researcher, you will be directly involved in various cost-effectiveness analyses both within and outside the hospital. The projects you will be working on will primarily be in the field of oncology. Key responsibilities include developing decision analytic models, collecting and analyzing healthcare utilization data, extracting suitable data from the literature, and performing qualitative research to inform your analysis. You will work under the supervision of experienced researchers in the HTA field. The projects will always take place in collaboration with (clinical) content experts and researchers who have investigated the interventions based on their clinical outcomes. As a team, we also teach within various bachelor’s and master’s programs for which you may be asked to contribute.
You will be working in the Health Economic Evaluation team, which is part of the Epidemiology and Health Economics department of the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care. The HEE-team is a team of approximately 15 enthusiastic researchers, junior researchers and PhD candidates. Within our team, various junior and senior researchers collaborate easily on diverse research projects throughout the hospital.
The Julius Center is part of UMC Utrecht and conducts groundbreaking research within four research programs: cardiovascular diseases, oncology, infectious diseases, and methodology. The Julius Center employs approximately four hundred researchers from diverse backgrounds, including medicine, clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, and health economics. The Julius Center offers a stimulating work environment for ambitious researchers.
You are an enthusiastic researcher with strong analytical skills. An affinity for healthcare and/or health economics is important. Furthermore, you are not afraid of a challenge and are motivated to (learn to) work with statistical software (such as R). With your strong communication skills, you can bridge the gap between economic models and medical practice. You have a proactive and independent attitude and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment. You communicate clearly and can explain complex materials in simple terms. When performing multiple tasks simultaneously, you are able to maintain an overview and not lose sight of the goal(s). You demonstrate initiative and are results oriented. You enjoy working independently and as part of a team.
Het UMC Utrecht wil bijdragen aan een gezond leven en een gezonde maatschappij, ook voor de generaties na ons. Daarvoor is veel kennis nodig. Als academisch ziekenhuis doen we wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar verschillende ziekten en de werking van onze genen.
