Designing Seamless Integration Between Digital Service Platforms and Financial Invoicing Systems to Ensure Accurate, Compliant Data Flows

This internship is designed for technical students with a strong interest in the business side. The student will help design and support a system integration between our digital services platform and the financial department’s invoicing systems.

This role blends API understanding, data analysis, system thinking, and business logic—ideal for students who want experience at the intersection of technology and business processes.

Objective

Support the integration of customer data, usage data, and consent information from our digital service platform into the financial department’s invoicing systems. Ensure the new integration is accurate, efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. System & Data Exploration
   • Understand existing digital-service data (usage records, subscriptions, customer IDs)
   • Explore the financial department’s invoicing systems and required data inputs
   • Review data-consent structures that determine what can be shared
2. API & Integration Mapping
   • Analyze available APIs, data endpoints, and data formats
   • Map how customer and usage data flows between systems
   • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or dependencies
3. Integration Support & Documentation
   • Assist in designing the integration workflow (e.g., data extraction, transformation, and loading)
   • Support testing activities to ensure correct invoicing logic
   • Document technical requirements, data flows, and integration logic
4. Business Logic & Compliance Understanding
   • Translate business rules (e.g., invoicing triggers, pricing, consent rules) into technical requirements
   • Ensure compliance with customer data ownership and consent (Data Act considerations)
   • Identify risks or scenarios where consent or data usage becomes unclear
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
   • Work closely with digital services teams, IT, and financial department specialists
   • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, business-friendly way

Jouw profiel

• Technical study program (ICT, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business IT, etc.)
• Basic understanding of APIs, system integration, and data structures
• Interest in business processes such as invoicing, subscription management, or financial flows
• Analytical mindset and willingness to learn how data supports business decision-making
• Ability to translate technical insights into business concepts
• Experience with JSON, SQL, or similar tools is a plus (not required)

Deliverables

1. Data & API mapping report (system overview and data flows)
2. Integration concept document describing how systems should connect
3. Test cases & validation results for integration scenarios
4. Final presentation summarizing integration proposal, benefits, and risks
