Description of assignment

The spare parts business at Vanderlande Industries is fast-paced, dynamic, and a critical part of our global operations. With a diverse community of employees spanning all continents, effective two-way communication is essential to keep the business running smoothly.

Headquarter plays a key role in communicating the latest developments, strategic decisions, and updates to the regional teams. At the same time, regions need to effectively share insights, challenges, and feedback from the field back to Headquarter. This ensures that decisions are informed, operations run efficiently, and customers continue to receive the high level of service they expect.

In this internship, you’ll have the opportunity to enhance communication and collaboration across the global spare parts organization, helping to bridge the gap between Headquarter and regional teams. You’ll contribute to streamlining information flows, improving transparency, and supporting decision-making, making a tangible impact on a key part of Vanderlande’s business.

Department description

The Global Spare Parts department and community develop and coordinate the sale and logistics of spare parts to Vanderlande’s customers. The department in the Netherlands (40 people based in Veghel) consists of multiple teams: logistics, product marketing and strategy & transformation. This assignment comes from the Strategy & Transformation team. This team primarily works on executing the 2030 strategy, focusing on logistics, e-commerce, inventory management to improve the customer satisfaction.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design, set up, and implement an internal communication strategy for the spare parts community and all service stakeholders.
  • Determine the most effective channels, frequency, and formats for sharing new developments and decisions.
  • Create and manage a SharePoint team site to centralize tools, resources, and news articles.
  • Build and maintain a community in MS Teams or Viva Engage to facilitate bi-directional communication.
  • Promote engagement and ensure that communication flows both from Headquarter to regions and vice versa.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives and propose improvements.

Your profile

  • Familiarity with communication tools, preferably Microsoft online tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams, Viva Engage)
  • No programming skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and engage with multiple stakeholders across the organization
  • Mandatory enrolment to a Dutch Education System & resident of The Netherlands.
