Description of assignment
Within Vanderlande, high-risk activities exist with critical Health & Safety (H&S) controls. Although these are known, we do not always execute our own way of working and sometimes have to take additional risks to complete the work. Currently, it is not defined when we accept a higher risk or when we must STOP work and implement control measures before restarting the work activities. We require guidance within Vanderlande on this subject, to empower the organization to actually STOP work activities when it becomes too hazardous. This guidance should focus on all layers of the organization and include all high-risk work activities. Once these guidelines have been defined, an implementation framework must be developed to implement these guidelines into our processes and into the organization.
Department description
The Corporate QHSE department supports the Vanderlande organization on Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental topics. The team consists of 14 employees, divided over the different disciplines. One way of doing so is by developing and implementing occupational safety requirements within the different domains of the business. It works alongside the domains to promote a safe and proactive work culture, as well as defining the minimum level of occupational safety for the overall organization.
