Do you want to make a difference and contribute to creating a better world? Are you interested in developing your skills and knowledge, while putting your ideals to work? Join us, we are a frontrunner in ethical banking and global impact investing, and we need people like you to make change happen.

We believe that money can change the world for the better. In fact, our organisation was founded on this belief. Our mission is to create a society that protects and promotes the quality of life of all its members with human dignity at its core.

Currently, we would like to bring on board a committed, passionate, and skilled professional for a permanent position as Fund Manager Impact Investments and Nature Based Solutions.

Profiel

In this position you will be the Fund manager of Hivos Triodos Fund and the Nature-Based Solutions Impact Platform. Hivos-Triodos Fund (HTF), founded in 1994 by Triodos Bank and Hivos Foundation, is a pioneer in impact investing in emerging markets. HTF supports early-stage and growth enterprises in sustainable agriculture and renewable energy, empowering local entrepreneurs to drive inclusive, green development across Africa, Asia and Latin America. With EUR 65 million AUM and new investments from Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO) and the development bank of Austria (OeEB), HTF is entering a new phase of growth and impact.

Building on this experience, Triodos IM is launching the Triodos Nature-Based Solutions Impact Platform (NBSIP) in 2026, a new, closed-end blended finance fund targeting investments in sustainable forestry, nature restoration, conservation, and sustainable agriculture in Africa, India and Latin America. NBSIP brings together public and institutional investors and represents a new asset class for Triodos IM, requiring close collaboration with external stakeholders.

How you will make a difference

We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Fund Manager to lead and further develop Triodos Investment Management’s (Triodos IM) impact investment activities in emerging markets. You will be responsible for managing and growing two cornerstone funds: the long-standing Hivos-Triodos Fund (HTF) and the new Nature-Based Solutions Impact Platform (NBSIP), launching in 2026. This role combines strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and investment oversight in sectors that drive climate resilience and inclusive growth.

  • Drive the strategic and financial performance of HTF and lead the launch and management of the Nature-Based Solutions Impact Platform and related Technical Assistance Facility.
  • Drive portfolio construction, investment strategy and performance in line with the funds’ impact-risk-return objectives.
  • Oversee and participate in the investment process. From pipeline development and due diligence to investment decision-making and portfolio monitoring.
  • Engage in fundraising and investor relations with public and institutional investors, supporting a phased scale-up of NBSIP in the coming years.
  • Ensure compliance with high impact and environmental & social standards, in collaboration with the NBSIP technical advisor.
  • Represent the funds towards key stakeholders including Hivos Foundation, DFIs, investors, and supervisory boards.
  • Build and maintain partnerships across Africa, Asia and Latin America, with a particular focus on Africa.
  • Coordinate internally with finance, risk, legal, compliance, and communications teams to ensure effective fund operations.

What you will bring

Your unique potential and your values matter to us most. We look for people who are self-aware and who think in a holistic way, always conscious of their impact on society, environment, and the economy.

  • At least 10 years of experience in fund, portfolio or investment management in impact investing, blended finance, or development finance in emerging markets.
  • Proven expertise with nature-based investments including sustainable forestry, carbon markets, and sustainable agriculture.
  • Proven experience engaging with investors and stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
  • Solid investment experience, ranging from senior debt to equity instruments in emerging markets.
  • Strong background in ESG integration and Environmental & Social Management Systems (ESMS), ideally with experience meeting DFI or institutional investor requirements.
  • Academic degree in (Business) Economics, Finance, Business Administration; additional qualifications (CFA, MBA) are an asset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with fluency in English.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following key behaviours from the Triodos Behaviours Wheel:

  • Collaboration – Works effectively across departments and geographies to achieve shared goals.
  • Responsibility – Takes ownership of tasks and decisions, ensuring integrity and accountability.
  • Courage – Challenges the status quo and speaks up when necessary to protect the organisation.
  • Care – Acts with consideration for the impact on people, the organisation, and society.

Besides these behaviours, you are:

  • An entrepreneurial and strategic thinker who can turn long-term vision into tangible results.
  • A natural connector comfortable working across cultures, disciplines and stakeholder groups.
  • You thrive in dynamic, evolving environments — making things happen, building partnerships and delivering measurable impact.
  • Located in Europe and willing to relocate to the Netherlands.

Your future colleagues

You will join Triodos IM’s Impact Private Debt & Equity (IPDE) department as a member of the fund management team, reporting directly to the Head of Fund Management. IPDE manages high-impact funds focused on financial inclusion, energy transition, sustainable food and agriculture, and nature-based solutions. With EUR 1.8 billion in assets under management, IPDE invests across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, seeking to make money work for positive change in developed and emerging economies.
